We are seeking a Quality Control Technician for The Grid Company, at its Woodbridge location (Ontario). This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.

 

Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician will perform duties to facilitate the manufacturing of The Grid Company Products to specification. The Quality Control Technician will be working within a team environment to ensure all aspects of production are completed effectively to meet the necessary quality and safety standards. The Quality Control Technician functions in a support role to all other departments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and control quality documents and maintain accurate inspection reports.
  • Perform random spot audits on production lines, components, inspections, warehouse controls, and traceability.
  • Train employees across departments on the Quality Management System and updated quality instructions.
  • Conduct in‑process inspections to ensure products and processes meet established quality standards.
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, verniers, height gauges, comparators, CMMs) to verify machined parts and tooling.
  • Perform incoming inspections of steel and verify material specifications.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate all inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Create internal non‑conformance reports (NCR) and report deviations from specifications or tolerances.
  • Analyze inspection data, report findings, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement of existing processes and assist in developing new ones.
  • Organize and file all completed quality documents (hard copy and electronic).
  • Communicate quality status updates, support new product development, and participate in quarterly inventory counts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager/Supervisor.

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Completion of a college or university degree/diploma (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of inspection processes, procedures, and quality control practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • SAP experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to analyze data and carry out basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and effective time‑management capability.
  • Very strong English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on the production floor in environments involving heavy equipment, fumes, and dust (PPE required).

  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to lift materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on the production floor, mostly in a standing capacity.
  • Plant environment including an exposure to heavy equipment, fumes, and dusts; PPE required.
