CertainTeed Canada, Inc., a division of Saint-Gobain, has an exciting career opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team at our Mississauga location.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for creating a culture of engagement within and between the plant teams to directly impact and consistently meet plant objectives and deliverables.

This position is also accountable to ensure that production teams work collaboratively in the decision-making processes and that the decisions are in alignment with plant goals and objectives, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards, Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI), safety requirements and current Human Resources (HR) guidelines. Finally, the Production Supervisor is responsible for all activities at the site and acts as the primary point of contact in off-hours and on weekends in the absence of plant management. You will also be responsible for:

  • Shift performance reporting as required, communicating with other Production Supervisors to report performance and issues that have arisen on shift Full handover to other Production Supervisors at shift changeovers.
  • Accurate (100%) and timely (within shift) recording of production data through In40rm and SAP.
  • Supervision and Leadership.
  • Coaches and mentor operators/technicians by influencing behaviours to execute and meet assigned responsibilities that directly improve individual, team and plant performance.
  • Manages the performance of production team to achieve daily and weekly targets across EHS, Quality, Streamline, Production and WCM Progress. An expert in performance management.
  • Collaborates with the appropriate pillar champion to coordinate the on-shift crew participation and implementation of WCM / Lean projects as part of daily work expectations. Leads AM projects and Kaizen events.
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
  • Through coordination with other departments, production of drywall in a manner such that shipments meet customer requirements (on-time, on-spec etc.) by achieving target performances on stock record accuracy (SRA) and plant schedule adherence (PSA).
  • Ensure product is to specification and meets identified quality standards.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor’s degree or two (2) years of post-secondary education with 5 years of manufacturing, supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized facility
  • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage a variety of technical and production functions, a strong commitment towards quality and service, and be able to promote our values.
  • Demonstrable success of providing leadership in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP. Kronos
  • Previous work experience in Lean Manufacturing using Kaizen, 5S tools.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay range for this position is $80,500 to $102,000 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
