WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Quality & HSE Coordinator to support our Quality Management System (QMS), Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day plant operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting operational excellence across receiving, production, and shipping activities.

Reporting collaboratively with Operations and Corporate Quality, the Manufacturing Quality & HSE Coordinator will work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives, support audits and certifications, maintain quality and safety documentation, and provide hands-on support on the production floor when required.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Quality Management Systems

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct spot audits and support the development and implementation of inspection processes.
  • Maintain inspection, measuring, and testing equipment, including calibration records.
  • Manage non-conformances (INCRs), customer returns (RMAs), corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor quality KPIs, scrap levels, inventory practices, and FIFO compliance.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and records in both electronic and hard-copy formats.
  • Train employees on quality-related procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Deliver training on new or revised quality processes in both individual and group settings.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external quality audits and certifications, including CSSBI 61 Certification.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Coordinate and support Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities, including meetings, minutes, and action item follow-up.
  • Maintain safety action logs and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, safety walks, investigations, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain safety documentation, training records, and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of safety training programs.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and employee engagement in health and safety initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on workplace safety and environmental performance.

Production & Operations Support

  • Provide hands-on assistance on the plant floor during periods of increased production demand.
  • Support production activities including bundling, strapping, material handling, and shipping-related tasks.
  • Assist with equipment changeovers and general manufacturing operations.
  • Support inventory counts and material flow activities across the facility.

Corporate Quality Support

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of QMS documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Maintain document control systems, including SharePoint (SAM).
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Quality and Operations teams to support quality initiatives and compliance requirements.

General Responsibilities

  • Communicate quality and safety updates effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–3 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, inspection techniques, and manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations and requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to support production operations and perform hands-on plant floor activities when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting audits and quality certifications.
  • Knowledge of document control systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
