Saint-Gobain Innovation Hub – North America is seeking a motivated Co-op – Systems and Solutions to support the development of innovative building system solutions out of our Mississauga Gypsum Plant. This role will contribute to system detailing, concept development, rapid prototyping, and technical documentation activities across multiple business initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, designers, and product development teams to transform ideas into practical construction solutions while gaining hands-on experience in building systems innovation.

Term: 4-8 Months (Flexible)

What We’re Looking For

You are a driven engineering student who wants to learn, contribute, and grow:

Skills required:

  • Gypsum board systems and drywall assemblies
  • 3D modeling and CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Technical drafting and construction detailing
  • Rendering and visualization of engineered systems
  • Mechanical aptitude and prototype development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Technical documentation and SOP development
  • Collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Interest in building systems, construction materials, and product development

Relevant Experience and Professional Experience:

  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms.
  • Exposure to technical drawings, engineering design, or product development projects.
  • Experience with prototyping, 3D printing, or hands-on fabrication is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Interest in building materials, construction systems, and innovation.

Education:

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Physics, Applied Science, or a related technical discipline.
