WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

In this position, employees will be responsible for the operation of forklifts to transport and stack materials in a safe and productive manner.

Shift: 12 hour rotating shift (7pm-7am on a 2/2/3 schedule)
Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • General housecleaning of the work area
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules
  • Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
  • Understand and follow all SOPs related to the Distribution Take Off operations
  • Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
  • Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
  • Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
  • Proper transport and stacking of board in a safe and productive manner
  • Ensuring risers are removed from all bays when empty
  • Operation of propane powered forklifts to load, unload, transport and stack materials
  • Completion of pre –shift/walk around inspections of forklifts
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, fueling or replacing propane tanks.
  • Proper placement of risers on board units in the warehouse
  • Complete as instructed all other job assignments that are issued by Distribution Team Leader
  • Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
  • Understand and follow all SOPs related to the Distribution Trailer Loading operations
  • Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
  • Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
  • Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
  • Ability to operate safely a powered industrial vehicle (forklift)
  • Proper transport and stacking of board in a safe and productive manner
  • Proper loading of board onto flatbed & cabana trailers.
  • Ensuring risers are removed from all bays when empty
  • Operation of propane powered forklifts to load, unload, transport and stack materials
  • Completion of pre –shift / walk around inspections of forklifts
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as cleaning, lubricating, fueling or replacing propane tanks.
  • Proper placement of risers on board units in the warehouse
  • Complete inventory security in the loading process
  • Understand safety procedures on semi-trucks & trailers.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of plant practices, plant rules, attendance control policy, and other plant procedures and policies.
  • Know, understand, demonstrate a thorough knowledge of and follow all applicable safe operating procedures and rules
  • Satisfy the essential physical requirements necessary for this skill area.
  • Correctly identify major areas of the plant: Line 1, Line 2, Joint Compound, Active Storage, Team Development Room, Distribution Manager’s Office, Raw Material Storage, Break Room, First Aid Room, Tornado Shelters, and Evacuation Meeting Location.
  • Correctly read the work schedule.
  • Familiar with the different types of product manufactured at Silver Grove.
  • Familiar with SOP’s the importance of following documented procedures.
  • Properly performs a STOP Audit without supervisory assistance.
  • Correctly read and understands the Lockout/Tagout program.
  • Correctly complete a safety inspection (eye wash, first aid kit, etc.).
  • Correctly operate 2-way radios using proper radio etiquette.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Requirements:

  • Works manufacturing plant environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, temperature changes and noise.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
  • Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance as scheduled.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Warehouse and shipping experience
  • Previous Industrial Powered Vehicle experience a plus.
