WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

A Manufacturing Process Engineer, is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency, and planning factory layouts to optimize production. In addition, this engineer will develop and implement World Class Manufacturing projects, production and processing methods, and controls to meet customer-based quality standards in the most cost-effective manner. Through the application of engineering fundamentals and advanced process control statistical tools, they will ensure processes are centered, capable, in control, reduce process variations, and resolve special causes of variation.

  • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data, then provide management with reports containing data and statistics to enable management to better understand future manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure that the company's manufacturing processes follow all government laws and regulations.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs, along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements, to assist management in decision-making.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and ensure that manufacturer procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
  • Complete material and energy balances and develop process alternatives.
  • Use Focus Improvement and Kaizen tools.
  • Ability to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Participate in and run trials at manufacturing facilities to evaluate equipment, process, and raw material opportunities.
  • Understand and practice WCM tools.
  • Evaluate and recommend alternatives; implement selected projects for cost improvement.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline – Required

Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional process experience in a manufacturing environment – Required
  • 2+ years of experience in project management and project engineering fundamentals – Preferred

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in the use of computer systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work with others to organize, plan, and solve problems at all organizational levels – Preferred
