Mechanical/Electrical Operator - 1st Shift

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The primary function of the Mechanical/Electrical position is to maintain the facility & equipment to reduce the risk of downtime in production. Continuously improve preventative maintenance procedures for the facility, while maintaining a safe, clean operation.
Essential Duties:
  • Working from equipment schematics (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic) and Saint-Gobain facility blueprints/layouts to determine required repairs
  • Problem-solving skills in all phases of maintenance
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Federal Regulations
  • Work with engineers, contractors and others as required
  • Initiate problem resolution
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Review maintenance task and work procedures for preventative maintenance program
  • Maintain maintenance Mobility Work Data
  • Work with engineers, Contractors, and OEMs with installation of new equipment and processes
  • Perform all duties assigned by management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Fire /Theft Alarm System, Building Access, and all Site Security (Fences & Gates)
STANDARD WORK:
  • Troubleshooting of equipment and or process related issues
  • Preventative maintenance of all facilities, and process related equipment and systems
  • Repair work (equipment repairs within the skill set that does not risk production interruptions)
  • Project work that falls within skillset to support operations
  • Forklift and outdoor activities
NON-STANDARD WORK (per-contract performed by contractor):
  • All Electrical and Plumbing installation License are required by State of Ohio
  • CAPEX work
  • All Service Calls for repairs outside of skill set or knowledge
  • Project Work that falls outside of Mech/Elec skillset, or availability to complete timely
  • Major repair work, or construction

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • A High school graduate or equivalent is preferred
  • Must complete The Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (and score in the 80th percentile or higher)
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Detail Oriented
  • High attendance standards
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Basic Computer skills:
· Ability to use Microsoft Office applications
· Basic Web searches
· Printers
· Daily use of Mobility work CMMS Software
· Understanding of PM related consumables, how they are used, and where they are stored
Mathematics skills and application:
· Use of basic math skills
· Use of fractions and percentages
· Understand area, linear and volumetric measurements when required
Mechanical
· Motor and Machine Repair
· Use of basic hand tools
· Troubleshoot and repair bearings and seals, drive couplings, gear cases, etc.
· Troubleshoot and knowledge with repair of tooling & molds
Plumbing
· Basic repair of toilets, water lines, air lines, as well as evaluating the need for Contractors
· Determine the correct pipe and fittings needed to make repairs, or changes in

The position is for 1st shift (MONDAY-FRIDAY, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Starting Pay $32.65 per hour Yearly bonus incentive and overtime available for this position.
