The Solutions Engineer - Wear and Friction will be the go-to person for our sales team when a new request arises from a customer regarding a wear & friction and PFAs free material development applications. They will advise the material according to specifications and price expectations and assist on first assessment with customers. They will then select the appropriate manufacturing site, coordinate with local engineering and quote teams and provide necessary information for them to design, develop process & quote. The Solutions Engineer will be able to identify within the organization the critical factors that can help improve responsiveness to customers and gain more business in wear & friction parts, where requests are growing with PFAS free requirements. This requires transversal coordination, multi-faceted expertise, an appetite for business development and material/process data analysis with respective business leaders and digital solutions experts.

- Material recommendation and high level quote
- Tech Days and customer visits
- Sales training
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- Bachelors degree - Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field - is required.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in tribology, wear materials or friction related applications - required.
- Strong understanding of wear mechanisms, friction behavior, material properties and surface interactions
- Proficiency in engineering calculations and data analysis
- Familiarity with FEA, simulation tools, or testing methods is preferred
- Ability to travel - up to 30%
- Experience in customer-facing or applications engineering role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to internal and external customers across different cultures and technical maturity levels

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $81,500 to $126,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $89,600 to $139,100. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
