WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

EHS Manager will serve as the primary contact for all EHS matters including regulatory and company compliance along with a critical role in driving a strong safety culture at the site. Proactively drive awareness and World Class Manufacturing Health & Safety through best practice sharing. Training and systems implementation.

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?


  • Compliance with local, state, federal as well as Saint-Gobain environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Assist with developing/Implementation company policies for adherence
  • Follow annual EHS action plan and facility training plan
  • Conduct site audits on a periodic basis to ensure compliance and monitor for potential issues
  • Responsible for the site's regulatory reporting requirements under local, state and federal guidelines including emission and waste discharge, and well as corporate reporting requirements
  • Inspects and processes all waste materials / emergency /safety equipment per SOPs
  • Arranges for the proper disposal of hazardous waste, solid wastes, and recyclables and maintains records and/or reports thereof
  • Complete various internal reporting requirements
  • Coordinate Industrial Hygiene sampling as needed
  • Respond to employee concerns with regard to EHS matters
  • Promotes, maintains, and enforces site compliance to our ISO14001 Environmental Management System

  • Participates in and occasionally lead site investigations, root cause analysis/cause mapping, development of corrective actions, and report out for EHS matters
  • Plan, schedule, and facilitates safety-related training for both mandated and site-specific EHS topics. This includes new hire and site contractor safety orientation training.
  • Supports safety-related activities designed to help the site to achieve safety goals and determine priorities (job safety analysis, behavior based safety audits and risk assessments)
  • Coordinates health, safety, and environmental projects with other departments/functions and recommends and implements methods to increase health, safety, and environmental compliance and reduce/eliminate identified risk

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Degree in Engineering, Safety, or Environmental discipline preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business will be considered with relevant experience

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of environmental experience with a strong background in federal and/or state environmental regulations
  • Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with a strong focus on industrial health and safety within a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience demonstrating strong communication skills, team-building capability, and the ability to train employees at all organizational levels

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Strong communication, team-building, and training skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead teams and actively participate in cross-functional teams to achieve site EHS goals
  • Ability to coordinate activities across departments and functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS-related systems

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
  • Green Belt Certification
  • Strong change management and continuous improvement mindset
  • Prior experience managing direct reports

Licenses and Certifications

(Required within 6 months of hire unless otherwise noted)

  • Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Certification
  • Class A & B Operator Certification
  • HAZWOPER Certification
  • RCRA Training
  • DOT Hazardous Materials Training
  • Class C Operator Certification
  • Additional regulatory certifications as required (timeframe TBD based on role/site needs)

BENEFITS IN JOINING US

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $92,000 to $142,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $103,000 to $159,000. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
