WHY DO WE NEED YOU?


The Manager, Indirect Corporate Purchasing will manage North American purchasing strategy for assigned corporate services categories, including HR, Marketing, and Communications, within Saint-Gobain's Indirect Purchasing team. This role is responsible for category management across strategic, indirect, and complex purchasing categories and will partner closely with business leaders, internal stakeholders, suppliers, and global purchasing teams to deliver value, improve processes, and support business priorities across North America.

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies for assigned corporate services categories across North America.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement best-in-class category strategies that support short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Privacy, IT, Security, and business leaders, to support sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection.
  • Manage supplier relationships, contract performance, service levels, and reporting to ensure purchased services are delivered as negotiated.
  • Analyze spend, supplier performance, market trends, and industry best practices to identify savings opportunities, process improvements, and value-added solutions.
  • Prepare and present updates, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support local purchasing teams and newly acquired businesses in aligning with Saint-Gobain purchasing strategies, processes, and preferred supplier programs.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, engaging internal stakeholders based on project needs.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative purchasing professional with strong experience in indirect sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder engagement in a complex, matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, logistics, business, or a related field required; master's degree in Purchasing, Project Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement, preferably with a focus on indirect goods and services.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, total cost methodologies, supplier management, and contract management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence employees, leaders, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects and make data-driven recommendations aligned with business strategy.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, with strong systems aptitude and analytical capabilities
  • Experience leveraging generative AI tools to improve productivity, streamline sourcing processes, support category and supplier research, or enhance contract and RFx activities preferred.
  • SPSM, CPSM, CPOM, PMP, or other purchasing, procurement, or project management certifications preferred.
  • Travel is estimated at up to 5% in support of regional projects and supplier relationship management.
