WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Senior Manager, Energy Purchasing to lead strategic energy purchasing activities across electricity, natural gas, renewables, and related energy services. This role will support energy sourcing, security of supply, contract strategy, pricing, and decarbonization initiatives in alignment with corporate policies and business needs.


What will you do?
· Lead physical supply contracting for electricity and natural gas, including RFPs, financial analysis, negotiations, contract development, implementation, and regulatory follow-up.
· Manage renewable energy purchasing activities, including PPAs, VPPAs, RECs, distributed generation, and related energy consulting services.
·Support market analysis, financial hedging, reporting, budgeting, reforecasting, and analytics for energy derivatives and financial products.
·Strengthen security of supply through energy infrastructure planning, interconnection agreements, natural gas pipeline capacity agreements, demand response programs, and related supplier coordination.
·Manage supplier relationships, vendor performance, onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and energy consultant services.
·Partner with site teams, business leaders, and senior stakeholders to provide clear recommendations, reporting, and presentations that support business and sustainability goals.
 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

What do you bring?


· Master's degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or a related field required.
· 7-10+ years of experience in energy purchasing, power generation, utilities, renewables, or a related field required.
· Strong experience with energy supply purchasing, contracting, RFPs, negotiation, supplier management, and contract implementation.
·Experience with solar, renewables, distributed generation, VPPA contracting, and economic modeling required.
·Strong energy market analysis, modeling, and techno-economic analysis skills; Power BI experience is a plus.
·Experience with financial hedging, REC purchasing, and energy vendor management preferred.
·Ability to communicate effectively with site teams, business leaders, and executive-level audiences.
·Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and influencing skills.
·AEE Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred.
