WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The Lead Chemical Operator is responsible for the safe manufacturing process while assisting management in supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture specialty chemicals as well as other related activities including but not limited too:
- All production requirements, laboratory functions, shipping /receiving functions, warehousing, EHS activities throughout the facility as assigned by the Plant Manager or designee including.
- The safe operation of Fork Trucks, filling and or emptying of totes, loading/unloading rail cars, tanker trucks, van and or intermodal trailer.
- Fills in for Production Supervisor on a backup or as-needed basis.
- Produces finished product to fill Customer demands in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
- Participates in all regulatory testing
- Participates in scheduled team meetings to recommend any necessary changes in procedures that will improve quality, improve production output, reduce costs, improve health and safety, and decrease waste generation.
- Participates in daily plant housekeeping within all production and warehousing areas
- Assists in all monthly inventory counts and reconciliations.
- All shipments are prepared to order, properly loaded and offered in accordance with DOT regulations.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
High School Diploma or accredited GED
3 year of experience
- Applicants must have strong reading, math, and technical skills, and the ability to qualify on various processes and equipment in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.
- Applicant must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to work in outdoor, ambient temperature conditions.
- Informs peers and management of any maintenance requirements and or activities necessary to ensure the safe, efficient operation of plant equipment and systems. Utilize Lean principles and communication actions sheets or work order forms to demonstrate improvements processes.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards. Identifies and reports or resolves hazards.
- Ensure Lab and QA procedures are followed per Chryso's requirements in addition to ensuring product quality standards is maintained and documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Informs Plant Supervisor and/or Plant Manager of any inability to meet customer delivery requirements and solutions to resolve and correct this deficiency.
