WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Grinder Operator will perform tasks associated with the grinding of molded Thermoset materials used in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. This position is responsible for either the operation of cylindrical grinding and honing, both manual and CNC, and/or surface grinding.


SECONDARY FUNCTION:
Identify and resolve process problems. Identify and implement cost reduction ideas

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prior experience working on Grinding machines/equipment is preferred
• Technical aptitude / trainability
• Ability to perform visual inspections and identify non-conforming part and escalate to proper personnel
• Knowledge of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, etc.
• Demonstrate basic blue print reading
• Ability to follow work instructions, understand/run a control plan, take measurements and run a machine
• Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or Cell Lead

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• 6+ months’ experience working in a manufacturing environment

High School diploma, GED or equivalent is required
• Computer and Math skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in above ambient temperatures
• Maintain high attendance standards
• Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions
• Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly
• Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles
• Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery
• Ability escalate problems as they arise within the department
• Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, with minimal scrap, in a fast paced work environment
• Adhere to Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action and ability to maintain professionalism at all times
