WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Injection Molding Machine Operator - 3rd Shift 9:00pm - 5:00am plus Overtime, $21.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE, plus $2.00 per hour 3rd shift differential.

The Injection Molding Machine Operator is responsible for contributing to the efficient production processes. This role involves performing quality checks and ensuring compliance with safety and production standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate plastic molding machines.
  • Cut off excess material.
  • Load set-up programs into the machine's controls.
  • Remove cured product from mold.
  • Inspect products for surface defects and flaws.
  • Ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Put dies into the machine.
  • Coat dies with parting agent.
  • Eliminate production of defective parts and products.
  • Fill machine hoppers.
  • Activate machine to inject dies.
  • Attach connecting lines.
  • Produces parts by following the work orders, blueprints, and customer specifications.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
  • Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Informs supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company EH&S policies and procedures. Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, and actively demonstrates SG principles of conduct & action.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor production runs for defects.
  • Requests necessary adjustments to ensure product quality meets specifications.
  • Document and report any deviations or corrective actions taken.

Safety:

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
  • Identify and report any potential hazards or equipment malfunctions.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Work closely with production supervisors and quality teams to improve efficiency.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and suggest optimizations.
  • Train new operators and assist operators in proper machine usage techniques.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written materials, including job orders
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using inspection equipment and following quality procedures
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime and holidays as needed
  • Manual dexterity is required to operate machinery and program equipment
  • Good vision to read written materials and measuring instruments
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Other job duties as assigned

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $21.00 to $30.00 per hour plus $2.00 per hour 3rd shift differential. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/a quarterly bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 7.5% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks)) for this position is $43,680 to $68,640. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.
