WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Product Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic, business, and financial objectives of assigned product lines within the CertainTeed Roofing Products organization. This individual will manage key aspects of the product lifecycle, including market analysis, competitive intelligence, pricing support, portfolio management, commercialization activities, and new product development support.
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Product Manager will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Manufacturing to execute product strategies that drive profitable growth and improve market position. This role will also serve as a key resource for the broader Product Management team by leading competitive benchmarking efforts, monitoring market trends, identifying opportunities and risks, and providing actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the portfolio.
 
Product & Portfolio Management (35%)
· Manage assigned product lines and monitor sales, margin, and portfolio performance.
· Support product lifecycle activities, including launches, updates, and rationalization.
· Develop recommendations for pricing, positioning, and portfolio growth.
Market Analysis & Competitive Benchmarking (25%)
· Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
· Maintain competitive intelligence on products, pricing, and market positioning.
· Deliver market insights and recommendations to support product strategy and planning.
New Product Development & Commercialization (20%)
· Support new product development and launch execution with cross-functional teams.
·Contribute to product requirements, business cases, and commercialization plans.
·Participate in Stage-Gate processes and monitor launch performance.
Cross-Functional Leadership (15%)
·Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute product initiatives and resolve issues.
·Develop product documentation, training materials, and internal communications.
· Support resolution of product performance and customer-related concerns.
Business Planning & Reporting (5%)
· Prepare analyses, forecasts, and presentations for leadership.
· Support annual planning, growth initiatives, and portfolio reviews.
· Maintain product performance reporting and dashboards.

· Have 4 to 7 years of experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, Market Research, Business Strategy, Commercial Excellence, or a related field.
· Enjoy analyzing market trends, uncovering customer insights, and translating data into business opportunities.
· Have experience managing products, projects, or business initiatives in a cross functional environment.
· Can balance strategic thinking with day to day execution, helping drive product performance and business growth.
· Are comfortable partnering with Sales, Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, and Finance teams to achieve results.
· Have strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel and PowerPoint.
· Are energized by solving complex business problems, influencing stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement.
· Have experience in building materials, consumer durables, home improvement products, or related industries. Experience in the Canadian market is a plus.
· Possess an MBA, technical background, or certifications such as Lean or Six Sigma, which are considered beneficial but not required.
