WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Engineering Manager provides essential leadership for all engineering activities at the Portland, OR facility, driving continuous improvement in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, and Productivity. This role ensures that engineering projects and initiatives align with company goals and support a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
 
· Confer with top management and other plant departments to discuss project specifications and procedures.
· Develops effective teamwork and utilizes innovation to achieve department goals.
· Analyze technology, resource needs, risk and associated costs to assess the feasibility of projects.
· Direct, review and approve technical designs and changes.
· Prepare budgets, bids, and contracts related to Engineering and improvement projects.
· Consult or negotiate with corporate engineering or outside vendors to prepare project specifications.
· Key manager and coordinator of the fixed assets at the Portland, OR roofing facility.
· Provides general leadership and development of others
Coordinates and directs projects making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
· Provide technical assistance to the production and maintenance departments.
· Perform administrative functions such as: reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules and making decisions regarding the purchase of equipment, materials or services.
· Provide key leadership to CertainTeed's world class manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.
· Perform root-cause analysis as well as implement sustainable countermeasures on losses related to electrical failures.
· Conduct behavior-based audits and 5S audits as well as support plants EHS goals.

Requirements: 
 
· 5+ years in a Management role
· Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience
· Proficient with Auto-Cad and/or Solidworks 
· Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Automation/Controls, or related)

BENEFITS IN JOINING US

 The national pay range for this position is $92,000-$142,000 per year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other 
 
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $103,040 to $159,04.
