Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will assist the Jonesburg Controller to ensure the financial statement integrity and internal controls of the Jonesburg and Granule Plants. The Financial Analyst is responsible for plant accounting activities such as supporting WCM Plant Team. This position will partner with the plant management/Jonesburg Controller to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions such as financial results and from this, recommend actions to improve business performance and minimize cost.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close assignments.
  • Demonstrate awareness of all elements of the plant's financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing post-closing plant financial analysis, performance reports and meaningful commentary.
  • Partner with the Controller to prepare and coordinate the forecasts and annual budget at the plant level.
  • Partner with the Controller to prepare, maintain and analyze product standard costs.
  • Support the analytical needs of the Controller and other financial management.
  • Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions.
  • Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions to plant issues.
  • Ensure compliance with CT (Certain Teed) and SGC (Saint-Gobain Corporate) policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
  • Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests and Fixed Asset Inventory.
  • Track cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting.
  • Support six sigma by auditing results, training black belts, and suggesting new projects.
  • Ad hoc analysis.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAP
  • Strong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the plant's financial results
  • Strong IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web-enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools and MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
  • Ability to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the location
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across plant and functional organizations.
