Saint-Gobain will be honored as a leader in Greater Philadelphia for its commitment to employee health and wellness
Malvern, Pa. – Sept. 20, 2016 – Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest building materials companies, today announced the company has been named a finalist for Philadelphia SmartCEO’s 2016 Healthiest Company Awards. The Healthiest Company Awards celebrate 29 companies in Greater Philadelphia that have demonstrated a commitment to employees through health and wellness programs.
Award finalists were selected by an independent committee of local business leaders based on the engagement, effectiveness and return on investment of each company’s health-conscious practices.
“This year’s healthiest companies are serious about creating programs that provide employees with the resources they need to enrich their well-being,” said Jaime Nespor-Zawmon, president of SmartCEO. “Simply put, by investing in employee wellness, these companies are investing in their own success.”
Saint-Gobain emphasizes employee health and wellness through a variety of offered benefits, including personal health coaching, weight management and nutrition classes, tobacco cessation reimbursement and support tools.
Additionally, Saint-Gobain’s new North American Headquarters in Malvern, Pa., is a next-generation workplace that maximizes the comfort and health of employees through the use of a wide range of the company’s building materials that improve air quality, moisture management, acoustics, energy efficiency, thermal management and ergonomics. The Headquarters also features an on-site fitness center, a cafeteria with healthy food options and 1.2 miles of outdoor walking trails.
“Our employees are always at the forefront of our business practices from the health and wellness benefits we offer to the decision to move our North American Headquarters and create a dynamic, state-of-the-art workplace experience,” said Susan Nutson, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Saint-Gobain Corporation. “We aim to provide the best work experience possible to attract and retain top talent.”
