The Senior Research Engineer I will be responsible for the development of new products, materials, and processes for CertainTeed’s Roofing Business, with a focus on residential shingle and its accessories. Phases of development include pilot, scale-up, and implementation of R&D processes into manufacturing. The candidate will take project objectives and transform them into actionable tasks including research of technologies, design and execution of experimentation, analysis of results, and generation of IP and technical reports.
Responsibilities
- Promote innovation and advance scientific understanding that addresses business growth strategy and fits market and customer needs.
- Manage all aspects of well-defined projects, using scientific and engineering principles to achieve goals with reasonable supervision, independently communicating and documenting results.
- Interface with manufacturing plants across the US for new product development and resolve escalated technical issues.
- Technical support for quality, purchasing, marketing and sales groups and potentially end customers on request.
- Investigate patent and technical literature, perform competitive analysis, and develop new patents for business.
- Fully participate in CertainTeed’s R&D activities to collaborate across boundaries and cultures, providing rapid business innovation and contributing to the overall innovation of Saint-Gobain.
- Follow Saint-Gobain’s HSE Policies, encouraging, empowering, and involving every team member to create a safety-centric culture for all activities.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- BS Degree & 7+yrs of experience, MS Degree & 3+yrs of experience, entry level PHD in Mechanical, Electronical, Chemical Engineering or other related areas.
- Strong knowledge of EHS Qualifications.
- 2-3 years of R&D experience in industry is highly preferred.

The Senior Research Engineer I is expected to be a technical expert in applied fluid mechanics. The individual in this role will use scientific knowledge and methods to lead and execute projects to improve glass fibers insulation process and products. Particularly, this individual will apply fluid dynamics tools and methods to characterize and improve additive spraying or curing and fiberizing or blowing processes. The person in this role will oversee internal competencies and lab testing methods development. This individual will collaborate with all other functions including purchasing, operations and product development team.

The Plant Controller will be the co-pilot of the Plant Manager of our Norwood, MA manufacturing site, assisting them in driving the business forward. With having Roofing & Granule production; this role requires intensity, agility and aptitude to successfully manage multiple simultaneous priorities and projects to financially support a matrix of diverse customers. Focusing on continuous improvement and elimination of non-valued activities is key, as well as strong sense of customer service.
What’s the job?
- Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability - identify issues and proactively initiate analyses/solutions quickly and accurately, keeping in mind the requirements from GAAP. Meet the needs of a complex, diverse, dynamic, and fast-paced organization that will pose a wide variety of challenges from a manufacturing level.
- Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close for the roofing and granule plant, demonstrating awareness of all elements of a plant’s financial statements.
- Support and manage the Plant Cost Analyst - working together to better improve processes, undertaking accounting activities, as well as business partnering with the whole Plant team to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions
- Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions
- Ensure compliance with SGC and EPG policies and procedures
- Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the plant level, oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts, and annual physical inventory, and assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests
- Project work based on company objectives & supporting/challenging Six Sigma activities with special focus on the financial analysis, and cost reduction projects
- Financial training for non-financial stakeholders - ability to effectively develop people and transfer knowledge down into, and across, the financial and manufacturing organizations
- Attendance in the Plant every day, a minimum of four (4) days per week
- Travel up to 20%.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferable or equivalent, complementary work experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAP
- Strong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the plant’s financial results by conducting detailed analysis
- Strong communication & presentation skills - capable of leading a process team and able to define clear vision, goals, and service standards, as well as working independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across plant and functional organizations, as well as lead the plant cost analyst.
- Want to challenge the status quo - always striving for continuous improvement
- Being able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously is also key
- Strong IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web-enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SAP knowledge would be preferable

Siding Products Group (SPG) is looking for driven, talented, and experienced R&D Group Leader to join our current team in conducting research, developing technical base, and material processing strategy for current and future research within the group. Projects will focus on improvement of processes, performance and product development activities related to SPG’s extensive product line.
As an R&D Group Leader, the candidate will be expected to effectively leads cross functional teams by managing others to execute and deliver project objectives. The candidate will be expected to oversee R&D project portfolio in the areas of materials processing, equipment set up, trouble shooting process inefficiencies and ensuring process control, collaborate effectively with R&D colleagues, product managers, product engineers, application engineers and external customers, create and execute project plans, design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings in written and oral formats. Candidate is also expected to play a role in proposing projects and programs vital to the R&D direction of the group. Further the candidate with be responsible for developing direct reports and others within group.
- Utilizes broad technical background and experience to develop and/or improve products, processes, and performance and/or reduce costs using state of the art extrusion, injection molding and hot-pressing processes.
- Collaborates with engineering, plant process and other R&D teams on process improvement, raw material usage and new equipment commissioning.

The Plant Quality Manager will be accountable to ensure the Quality Management System is implemented per requirements and to report areas of concern to Management. The Plant Quality Manager will be expected to ensure the plant remains in full compliance will regulatory requirements and ISO:13485 requirements as they pertain to the plant, customer specifications, and corporate quality procedures. Job Functions:
- Execution and oversight of a Quality Management System that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements (ISO:13485) and industry guidance.
- Execution of document control and review/approval of controlled documents.
- Execution and maintenance of ECO process including change management and review of all change controls.
- Execution and maintenance of supplier quality management and performance of supplier audits as appropriate.
- Complaint management including robust root cause analysis and CAPA.
- Ensure robust root cause analysis investigation and CAPA for deviations and nonconforming product.
- Implementation of an effective Internal Audit Program.
- Ensure adequate training program is in place.
- Oversight of applicable Validation Master Plan including equipment, process, product, sterilization, and test methods.
- Oversight of quality control laboratory and review/approval of quality control testing.
- Execution of cleanroom practices including qualification, monitoring, and behavior.
- Responsibility for Quality Risk Management in relevant aspects of the QMS.
- Responsible for maintenance and expansion of the Global QMS e-tool (ETQ) at the plant.
- Facilitate management review process including implementation of a metrics control plan to measure and monitor the health of the Quality Management System, Manufacturing System, and Supply Chain.
- Oversight and Maintenance of Site Sterility Program
- Customer Management including facilitating/hosting customer audits, ensuring robust and effective corrective action to customer audit observations, reviewing/approving quality agreements with customers, partnering in the resolution of quality issues and requests for information by initiating effective interdepartmental communication, managing ISO certification and maintenance of certification.
- Execute talent management activities with direct reports. Ensure proper performance management, training, and development of direct/indirect reports
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering-Preferred, or Life Sciences-related field (Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology); required.
- Master’s Degree in MBA or equivalent; preferred.
- ASQ Certifications desirable (CQE, CQM, CQA); preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a regulated industry with preferred emphasis in life sciences (e.g., pharma, biopharm, or medical device); required.
- Minimum of 6 years in a Quality function with at least 3 years in a Quality System design, development, and implementation role; required.
- At least 3 years in a direct supervisory role; preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO and cGXP requirements and relevant industry standard practices is required. Must have the ability to interpret these regulations to ensure proper implementation in the plant systems; required.

The Role
The successful candidate will exercise a working knowledge of the theories and practice of electric, electronic, pneumatic, combustion, and instrumentation systems; including test equipment. The Electronic Controls Repairperson will read, understand and work from all types of drawings, prints, and system diagrams and specifications with the highest degree of skill in their performance of maintenance installation and troubleshooting. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of the range of voltages, Allen Bradley PLCs, instrumentation experience, troubleshooting 4-20 mA circuits, variable frequency drives, power generators, transformers, lighting, and servos along with Yokogawa DCS systems.
The starting pay is $40.17/hour and the rotating schedule is as follows:
- Work Saturday - Friday (7 days) 7:30AM - 3:30PM (1st shift)
- Off Saturday - Tuesday (4 days)
- Work Wednesday - Tuesday (7 days) 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM (3rd shift)
- Off Wednesday - Thursday (2 days)

The Multi-Craft person is primarily responsible for all duties currently held by both Mechanic and Electrician positions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow all safety requirements during the course of performing any mechanical or electrical work.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment throughout the facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical system throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment throughout the facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical system throughout the facility.
- Read and interpret PLC ladder logic in the course of troubleshooting plant equipment.
- Safe use of hand tools, small power tools and electrical test equipment such as a multi-meter and clamp-on ammeter.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- At least two years related experience working in the area of mechanical and electrical maintenance
Candidate must possess one of the following to meet the minimum requirements:
- Completion of a state approved electrical apprentice program
- U.S. Military education in the area of electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Completion in the area of electrical engineering or technology from an accredited college program
- A combination of education and proven work experience may be considered in lieu of the above

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:
Shift Differentials ($37.05 plus 2nd Shift Differential of $1/ hr)
- Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
- Attendance Incentive for Meeting Company Attendance Requirements (1 incentive day earned at regular hourly pay rate if no absences within 6 months on a semiannual basis)
