What’s the job?

Under the leadership and guidance of the site EHS Manager, the Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for coordination and implementation of the site’s Health and Safety (H&S) programs for the Peachtree City, GA facility.

  • Perform activities necessary to ensure that the facility is in compliance with all corporate, local, state and federal H&S regulations. Interact with outside vendors as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination of the Annual Health & Safety Action Plan as well as Corporate mandated plans and objectives such as SMAT, TOS, NOS, Permit To Work Program, and various compliance programs.
  • Assist with the facilitation of EH&S meetings, Contractor and Visitor Health & Safety Orientations.
  • Stay up to date with the local, state and federal safety and health regulations and keep informed of all upcoming regulations and their effect upon the facility.
  • Assist in training staff on general safety policies and procedures to be followed by plant personnel in compliance with corporate, local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Assist in identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards requiring the application of professional engineering knowledge, skill and abilities.
  • Facilitates inspection of facility to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommends corrective or preventive measures where appropriate.
  • Assist in the research, planning, organizing, and conducting of safety programs, and seminars.
  • Writes material for new safety programs; reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes.
  • Assist managers, supervisors & operators with problems & answer any questions they may have concerning health and safety matters.
  • Assists with preparing and administering various safety programs.
  • Prepares and distributes safety program aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; sets up audiovisual equipment and makes presentations when necessary.
  • Schedules and administers Forklift Safety Program and schedules one onsite safety shoe trucks each year for employees to purchase safety shoes.
  • Support adherence to EH&S Systems by hourly workforce, lead by example.
  • Will participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s.
  • Document Controller for all OSHA documents.
  • Maintain and update Corrective & Preventive Action, Objectives & Program and Performance Measurement & Monitoring Logs.
  • Collect/enter Near Miss/SMAT and Forklift SMAT card info into plant tracking spreadsheet.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

What do you bring?

  • Associates degree in industrial safety/health/hygiene and/or 2-3 years of related EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills written/oral and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate and experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint. Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.
  • Familiarity and experience with WCM methodology.
  • High level of analytical skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team with a sense of urgency.

Engineering & Maintenance Manager

The primary objectives of this position are to ensure the economic viability of all plant assets and to maximize the reliability of the equipment to meet production requirements. The incumbent will take an active role in promoting continuous improvement programs and teamwork between the Production, Mechanical, Electrical, and Engineering personnel. These activities are focused to ensure the short and long term competitive position of the Buchanan Plant. The Maintenance & Engineering Manager reports to the Plant Manager.  Reporting directly to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager are the Reliability Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, and Manufacturing Engineers. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor are the 15 hourly associates and the Storeroom personnel. Reporting to the Reliability Supervisor are the Inspector, Automation Engineers, and PLC Technicians.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Key Focus/accountabilities:

  • Reports directly to the Plant Manager and is a key member of the plant management team. If required, will be responsible to fill in as plant manager in his or her absence.
  • Leadership role in the site World Class Manufacturing program, in alignment with site business plan.
  • Ensures the safety of all members of the Department by enforcing safety rules and by supporting programs promoting a safe working environment. Active member of the plant safety program.
  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
  • Models company Vision, Mission and Values and ensure employee’s model the same.
  • Ensures department employees are properly trained and their skills are regularly assessed to ensure developmental needs are addressed utilizing gap analysis from skills matrices and tailored training programs.
  • Develops a maintenance vision consistent with the directions and goals of the Plant, working closely with the plant management team. Integrates these goals into the Maintenance and Capital Plans.
  • Develops short term actions plans and objectives for the Department.
  • Develops and manages the annual Maintenance Budget.
  • Manage the capex budget and oversee all capex project activities.
  • Insure all projects are being managed per standard capex procedures
  • Develop all long term plans while ensuring that weekly/daily systems are rigorously executed.
  • Aim to achieve budgeted reliability on all major equipment.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities comply with all legislated regulations and corporate policies.
  • Administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement in a fair, firm, and consistent manner. Play an active role during Contract Negotiations.
  • Develop a continuous improvement philosophy.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience.
  • Knowledge of the gypsum manufacturing process and related equipment is an asset.
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance in a professional/management role.
  • Strong experience with developing a sustainable World Class Maintenance System (inspection, predictive and preventive maintenance, planning, execution, Root Cause Failure Analysis and improvements).
  • Experience in capital project management, including handling vendors and contractors and installation commissioning.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing equipment repair.
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, coordinating and directing a Maintenance Department.
  • Proven ability to be an outstanding coach and leader, with succession planning and employee development skills.
  • Active interest and success in people development, training systems and error proofing
  • Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization utilizing differing styles of management; from directive, to coaching and support, through delegative, as the situation arises.
  • Change management and conflict management skills.
  • Strong influencer and communicator.

The Multi-Site Supplier Quality Manager is a direct report of the Siding Products Group Quality & Process Control Director and is a member of Staff.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality management of our suppliers to ensure that they meet or exceed our company's standards. This role requires a strong background in supplier quality management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Supplier Quality Manager will work closely with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize supply chain performance. This role has responsibility to all of SPG sites to ensure that the suppliers and third-party manufacturers produce products that meet or exceed established quality specifications; partnering with plant Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and R&D as needed to identify and resolve supplier quality issues.  This position: participates in setting raw material specifications, conducting supplier audits, issuing, and managing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and supplier performance metrics development and monitoring

Essential Functions:

  • Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Conduct thorough assessments of potential and existing suppliers to ensure they meet quality, capability, and compliance standards.
  • Quality Audits and Assessments: Perform regular supplier audits and evaluations to verify adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Quality Planning: Develop and manage quality plans in collaboration with suppliers, ensuring that products meet specifications and quality requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and addressing areas for improvement within the supplier base. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into quality issues or defects, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify and address underlying problems.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics, such as defect rates and on-time delivery, and report findings to internal stakeholders. Develop strategies to improve supplier performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier quality, including assessing potential impacts on production and product safety. Develop and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, production, and procurement, to ensure alignment on quality requirements and supplier performance.
  • Communication and Training: Facilitate clear communication between suppliers and internal departments. Provide training and support to suppliers to enhance their quality management processes.

The Sr. Compliance Counsel will be key in ensuring the Company operates in a legal and ethical manner while meeting business objectives and timelines.

Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, particularly with respect to the Department of Justice Guidelines for Effective Compliance Programs, then develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of issues and provide guidance regarding how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Conduct internal investigations in areas such as fraud, theft, conflicts of interest, harassment, discrimination, and other matters.
  • Conduct/support risk assessments and assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures that ensure the business is a first line of defense.
  • Assist with policy creation, development and maintenance in areas including: The Code of Ethics, ABAC, AML, Privacy, User Charter, Social Media, Workplace Violence and other related policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities.

  • Assist with developing and implementing tools/programming/training/communications that promote a culture of compliance that ensures that employees speak up about concerns

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Juris Doctorate required
  • 7-10 years compliance experience, preferably at a matrixed business
  • Prosecutorial experience, preferably at the Department of Justice, strongly preferred.
  • Experience at a large law firm strongly preferred
  • Expertise in data governance and management, privacy, internal investigations, anti-trust, anti-money laundering, and anti- bribery and corruption
  • Strong ability to think strategically to resolve matters effectively and efficiently and to build collaborative relationships with business leaders and HR, while managing shifting priorities

Strategic Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability Manager
Position Description
Job Summary

The Strategic Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS&;S) Manager spearheads the development of EHS and Sustainability strategies and drives culture within Saint-Gobain Research North America (SGRNA). The role involves close collaboration with SGR NA members, SG’s broader EHS&S network in North America, global R&D Center EHS&S teams, company executives, and external contractors. Based at Saint-Gobain’s North American R&D facility in Northboro MA, this on-site position reports to the Director of Operations.

Leading a dedicated team, the Strategic EHS&S Manager oversees the execution of EHS policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to all pertinent regulations and standards. This manager also chairs the Sustainability Committee, a team responsible for advancing and overseeing the Sustainability Roadmap, as well as steering sustainability endeavors within the facility. As a result, a strong understanding of Scope 1, 2, 3 levers and prior experience around CO2 emission reduction, energy reduction, VPPA contracts, solar and wind installation or related activities is required. They must adeptly build results-oriented teams, manage both departmental and capital expenditure budgets, foster strong networks within the global Saint-Gobain community, and engage with government entities at multiple levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the EHS strategy, identifying short, medium and long-term initiatives to improve and maintain EHS excellence at SGR NA and associated locations. Create a detailed blueprint for achieving strategic objectives that are aligned with corporate vision and goals, and in accordance with the SG EHS Management System.
  • Lead the Sustainability Committee to generate and maintain the Sustainability Roadmap plus guide sustainability initiatives at the center.  Craft a detailed plan to achieve roadmap objectives ensuring alignment with corporate requirements and expectations of SGRNA community with operational and R&D Teams.
  • Lead the EHS team and subcommittees to execute the short, medium and long-term EHS objectives for SGRNA and associated sites. Guide the Sustainability, operational and R&D teams to achieve sustainability goals.
  • Oversee EHS team members as they lead transversal R&D center EHS best practice exchanges and act as SafetyPlus Champion for contractor vetting. Participate as core member of the 5S Committee and the Crisis Team, achieving goals as determined by the team. Support Operations Leadership Team (OLT) and Center Management Team (CMT) and engage in their initiatives as requested.
  • Build effective and high performing teams using the principles of TEC (trust, empowerment and collaboration); create and maintain connections within SG; identify and exchange with external authorities (federal, state, local agencies); adhere to internal and external guidelines.
  • Develop and manage departmental and CAPEX budgets; innovate to reduce costs; share progress with upper management.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 15 years of experience; Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or related field
  • Knowledge of applicable EHS&S regulations and standards, examples include: OSHA, EPA. NFPA, Industrial and lab safety, hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene, risk assessments, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Knowledge and experience working on sustainability, examples include understanding Scope 1, 2, 3 calculations and levers; efforts around CO2 emission reduction, energy reduction, VPPA contracts, solar and wind installation or related activities
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; Experience in EHS management tools
  • Customer focus; Professional demeanor, positive energy, good listening and questioning skills, timely follow up to ensure that customer needs are met
  • Proven track record of project development and management skills - organization, attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects concurrently, record keeping, flexibility

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing or developing new process control systems and revising / maintaining of existing processes; developing and implementing WCM projects; managing and guiding contractors, consultants, and suppliers; identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost / benefit analysis and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.
  • Provide input into planning and scheduling of projects and preparing capital expenditures.
  • Interact with managers and supervisors at plant to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement controls projects.
  • Interact with consultants and suppliers to determine the compatibility of other systems and products as they may apply to WCM and Controls. Participates in Focus Improvement teams to resolve critical process and production problems with customers and vendors.
  • Develop and maintains PLC/HMI systems from the plant floor to management and financial levels.
  • Provide technical support and enhancement of automation related systems (PLC / HMI / VFD / Instrumentation / Data and Voice Networks / plant electrical distribution systems) and implement required updates to avoid technical obsolescence.
  • Ensure CertainTeed Insulation’s standards of safety, quality and reliability are built into power distribution and control systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline) from an accredited university or institution.

Job Summary

Saint-Gobain Research North America BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) R&D team is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager. The desired candidate must have a proven track record of designing, prototyping and commercializing electrical devices as well as managing R&D projects from concept to commercialization. The candidate will be responsible for managing projects intercompany goals, and technical roadmap. Additionally, they will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and or, troubleshooting electrical devices and systems.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Drive the successful delivery of diverse intercompany projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define clear project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Track team’s progress by holding weekly meetings.
  • Conduct engaging project status meetings and keep stakeholders informed with regular updates. Be the to go person for comprehensive project status and goals.
  • Proactively monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Responsible for Stage Gate R&D deliverables, leading FMEA meetings, design reviews and other workshops

Electrical Engineering:

      

  • Determine and manage electrical requirements for BIPV from business requirements.
  • Understand electrical characteristics at cell level, module level, string level and system level. Be the internal expert on how a system should be wired.  Perform calculations to understand system design potential and operational limits.
  • Responsible for system and equipment test plans for validation or trouble shooting. Analyze results for product selection.  Recommend 3rd party electronic equipment for installation (batteries, RSD devices, optimizers, etc.)
  • Design and provide electrical specifications to the vendors for components or devices including but not limited to remote diagnostic, electrical safety components and optimizers.
  • Electrical system sizing, layout and installation
  • Responsible for NEC code compliance and UL certification for all electrical components
  • Assist vendors with diagnostic and solutions.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or PhD degree with 7+ years of experience 
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical contributor and project management in R&D environment
  • Proven record of developing products as an electrical engineer
