What’s the job?
NOTE: This role is home based/remote and you will travel up to 60% as the role permits to any our manufacturing plants located in U.S.
The CertainTeed/Saint-Gobain World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Model is one of several programs chosen by Saint-Gobain that provides framework for achieving World Class Operational Excellence. - Travel across multiple Roofing sites to support the business level objectives and goals.
- Responsibilities include designing and developing new process systems, revising / maintaining existing processes; developing and implementing WCM QPC Yellow Belt projects, identifying new opportunities and solutions with cost / benefit analysis and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.
- Support the QDMS functions within Factory+ for implementation and maintenance. This includes working with Quality site personnel to develop quality inline parameters to ensure product compliance and test conformance.
- Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
- Cascade claims issues to ensure countermeasures developed are implemented across all sites.
- Share best practices/opportunities from past projects and expand the knowledge within the group by implementing them at other sites as appropriate.
- Interacts with plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projects.
- Works closely with Plant Resources to coordinate any proposed changes using the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Support Plant-level WCM teams with Continuous Improvement events as needed.
- Develops and implements standard operating and quality procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensures full documentation of all projects and systems to WCM, Technical Office, and/or Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
- Analyzes / stratifies accurate data and loss information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc. in support of continuous improvement of quality.
- Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S principles, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, and supports WCM initiatives.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of applied professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency of Continuous Improvement, TPM, WCM pillar principles & methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Minitab a plus.
- Detail oriented with good data analysis and time management skills
- The job requires actively influencing and motivating a variety of people in changing and challenging situations. Strong influencing skills are needed as selling WCM is accomplished by gaining acceptance.
- Ability to understand operating principles of Roofing Product Group major process equipment.
- Experience with Project Management, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R
- Experience working with and troubleshooting continuous web manufacturing.
- Experience acting as a change agent across multiple production facilities.
- Trained and familiar with ISO 9001 / Quality Management System
