Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Ensure that all mechanical and electrical devices remain at a fully functional capacity. Industrial experience in a continuous manufacturing facility is required with multi-craft ability in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding, Fabricator etc. Trouble shoot, maintain, and make all repairs necessary for the safe and efficient operations of a manufacturing facility. Know, understand, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures, including housekeeping requirements. The day shift Multi Craft position will have a heavy emphasis on plant down day corrective repairs and preventative maintenance as well as fabrication, assembly, install, and improvement projects.

Location: Palatka, Florida

Day Shift

Hourly Rate: Level A: $31.97, Level B: $25.64 - $30/HR (based on experience)

Primary Functions:

  • Maintains, repairs and modifies machines.
  • Repairs and reconditions hydraulic/pneumatic systems (air lines, solenoids).
  • Inspects, maintains and repairs saws, dryers, mixers, plant systems, mills and conveyors
  • Replaces and repairs electrical equipment/components 110 & 240 volts 3 phase and low voltage motor controls.
  • Changes grinding or cutting blades and/or bits.
  • Fabricates and welds parts for repair, retrofits and modifications.
  • Reviews all required blueprints, drawings and work orders in order to install, troubleshoot and repair desired product, part or system
  • Checks, collects and organizes all parts and tools prior to starting job or assigned task
  • Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area
  • General housecleaning of the work area
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules
  • Able to understand and apply all safety procedures
  • Understand and follow all SOPs related to the electrical maintenance
  • Understand NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety
  • Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures
  • Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs
  • Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders
  • Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas
  • Complete as instructed all other job assignments that are issued by the maintenance Team Leader

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 yrs with industrial mechanic background or 2 or more years school/technical training and experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with fabrication highly preferred
  • Experience as an industrial Millwright highly preferred
  • Experience working with electrical motors, start/stop circuits, water and vacuum pumps, chain drive systems and lubrication applications.
  • Experience with working in plant planned down days and extended shut downs / outages preferred
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic control systems, troubleshooting using control logic schematics, measurement instrumentation, PLC’s, and O&M manuals a plus.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, draw materials and build projects from blueprints with limited supervision producing first time quality results.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to do other general building support including minor electrical, plastic, and metal pipe fabrication.
  • Ability to perform tasks on plant equipment and systems with minimal supervision and a high level of reliability.
  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of shop tools, metal stud framing, drywall, painting, floor repair, concrete repair.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work as a team and interface with other employees
  • Experience with the following mechanical systems: Hydraulics, ventilation/air intakes, acoustical insulation, engine installs, shafts and propellers, fuel systems, engine controls, wet exhaust, cooling, steering (power/manual), fire/bilge system, fire extinguisher system, gen-set installation, wipers, fresh water system, head and waste system, HVAC, mooring gear, labels and graphics, emergency equipment, electronic equipment
  • Must be able to figure, layout, cut and fit complex parts and shapes using blueprints, existing structures and template materials.
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Ability to work 10-hour day shift. Shift schedule may be extended or modified during plant commissioning
  • Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance and work days, nights, holidays or weekends as scheduled
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds

Instrument and Control Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Essential Functions

  • This I&C position is a training opportunity for a potential PLC position.
  • Individual will be responsible for calibrating and maintaining calibration logs of all plant instrumentation.
  • Individual will be responsible for ensuring all plant instrumentation and control devices are updated in SAP (with an attached PM, in development) and maintaining a library of all plant I/C devices in the shared drive and DPCTrack2.
  • Individual will be responsible for completing and/or coordinating PM’s for all the plants instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Individual will be responsible for motor testing (MCE / PdMA) program and Infrared (IR) studies of plant electrical equipment
  • Individual will aid in the installation and replacement of plant electrical components such as motors and VFDs
  • Individual will work and train closely with the I&C Supervisor and the Electrical Controls Engineer to learn how to set up and modify the plants control systems. This will include some formal on and off site training.
  • This position will report directly to the I&C Supervisor.

Day Shift

Hourly Rate: Level A: $31.97, Level B: $25.64 - $30/HR

Responsibilities

  • This position will be filled by an associate who normally performs an existing maintenance function.
  • The individual can be asked to assist with equipment failures or cover for absent electricians as deemed necessary by supervision.
  • There is a preference for being on straight day shift with the possibility of being on rotating shift as needed to support plant operation, which includes multi-craft work.

The Role

Warehouse Associate will be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities for the operations in his/her assigned area. The successful candidate will follow plant, departmental, and job safety policies as well as know, understand, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safe operating procedures, including housekeeping requirements. The candidate should have a basic knowledge and understanding of all quality procedures and guidelines, possess the ability to communicate with the previous shift regarding proper counts and any other issues. The Warehouse Associate will be able to identify the non-quality products and report problems, report unsafe conditions and correct immediately, learn and use computer systems for Quality and Production reporting. The ability to communicate with other associates and areas to ensure a good working environment is imperative. The Warehouse Associate must be able to: • Work a set schedule on 1st shift or 2nd shift Monday - Friday. • Report to scheduled work shift on time every day • Work overtime as required • Work in an environment that is hot in the summer and cold in the winter • Wear personal protective equipment that may include: hearing protection, steel toe boots, safety glasses, FR clothing, Hard Hats, masks, and respirators • Lift, push, pull up to 70 lbs. • Carry up to 50 lbs. • Safely operate a powered industrial vehicle (forklift, etc.) • Safely load product on flatbed trailers • Work productively as a member of a team Starting pay is $17.50/hour and benefits begin on the first day of employment!

Extruder Operator Helper Trainee

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Safety is of primary importance to this and all positions. The Extruder Operator Trainee is primarily responsible to pack product and assist in production line operations. They must be able to maintain a well-organized and clean work station as well as update required documentation to ensure a quality product. Dependability, reliability, as well as teamwork with co-workers is an essential part of this job. All operations will be under supervision from Helper Trainers and Supervisors during the training period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform job in a safe manner following all rules, regulations, and training. Perform daily safety inspections and report all unsafe conditions or Near Miss events immediately. Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, including designated PPE for Trainees. Use hand tools as intended. Follow all environmental and housekeeping requirements, properly dispose of trash, regularly sweep keeping material, oil and water off floors and keep contaminated material from entering process water system. Ensure that the line is cleaned during and prior to the end of the work shift.
  • Package product per specification under supervision of Helper Trainers and Supervisors - make boxes, correctly code labels, properly configure and nest product, glue and secure packaging, configure and build product onto pallet, insert slip sheets, band product to pallet and insure that product is secure before warehousing.
  • Assist in the operation of production lines. Assist in line checks and look for product defects. Manage pigment containers, regrind totes, ASA boxes, material hoses to the silos, daybins, and hoppers.
  • Operate peripheral line equipment – online grinder, scrap cutter, and boxing table. Assist in clearing jam-ups of material from machine works, pull and segregate bacon strips, manage line sags, purge out lines, re-string lines, assist in product and color changes, assist in changing sizers, and properly segregate and rack regrind and isolate contaminated material to scrap. Ensure inventory of boxes, banding, glue, and labels is maintained on line. Change over boxing table during product changes.
  • Perform to all quality expectations, isolate/ report all defects, ensure that the product meets all dimensional and cosmetic standards, abide by all ISO 9001 systems, adhere to all MADE standards and follow SPC guidelines under guidance of Helper Trainers and Supervisors
  • Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly is essential.
  • Communication (Oral) - Ability to communicate with Supervisor, Extruder Operator and Set-ups, co- workers and managers effectively is essential.
  • Detail Orientated - Ability to note minute detail impacting product quality and packaging is critical.
  • Honesty/Integrity - The trait of being truthful and credible within the workplace is essential.
  • Organized - Ability to follow a systematic method to package product and build pallets, maintaining a clean, well organized work area and ensuring proper stock levels for boxes, bands, glue and labels is critical.

The Community Relations and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Saint-Gobain North America Foundation non-profit operations and strategic partnerships, as well as guiding the Group’s community relations efforts, volunteer programs and employee engagement in North America.   • Work with the director to develop and implement the annual planning of the Saint-Gobain North America Foundation in alignment with the strategic vision of the Foundation board.
  • Manage the allocation of the Foundation’s annual budget, including distribution of community gifts, direct grants, and matching gifts.
  • Manage relationships across the organization including relationships with the foundation board, and relationships business unit leaders and contacts.
  • Handle all day-to-day operations of the Foundation, including budgeting, financial management, and administration, and ensure the effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee the grant-making process, including identifying potential grant recipients, conducting due diligence, and ensuring compliance, to support organizations and initiatives that align with the Foundation's priorities.

  • Design and implement giving campaigns in support of Saint-Gobain philanthropic and community engagement activities with emphasis on localized employee engagement for volunteer programs and community-based giving initiatives.
  • Design and implement community outreach strategies and plans; work with stakeholders and employees at all levels of the organization to build relationships, grow engagement and increase volunteer participation in strategic programs and grassroots initiatives aligned to the Foundation’s mission and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the SGNA Foundation’s programs and initiatives and prepare regular reports for senior leadership to demonstrate the foundation’s progress and impact
  • Collaborate with communications team to design communication and marketing strategies to promote the SGNA Foundation’s activities and build awareness and support for the SGNA Foundation.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in the required field, such as business administration, nonprofit management, philanthropy, communications or social sciences.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing corporate foundations and/or large non-profit organizations across large regions, corporate social responsibility programs, volunteer programs and volunteer engagement in highly matrixed entities.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who is highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of initiative, judgment, and decisiveness in accomplishing tasks; must be able to work both independently and with a team.

Night Shift Maintenance Supervisor

What’s the job?

  • Directly supervises the hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, building maintenance, machinery, utilities etc. Will lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance to all safety, environmental and health policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines in a manner that will ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant operating systems.
  • Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities of maintenance crews and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees
  • Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to equipment/machinery failure.
  • No travel.
  • Night Shift Schedule:  Expect to work a 12-hour crew 7pm to 7am three days one week and four days the next alternating with every other weekend off.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

What do you bring?

  • A four-year degree in a related field is preferred. A technical diploma in the fields of engineering or manufacturing is recommended.  Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5- 7 years of maintenance supervisory experience leading small to medium-sized teams in a fast-paced continuous manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to include hydraulic, pneumatic and power transmission equipment.
