The NA SSC Continuous Improvement Analyst will play a pivotal role in optimizing the North America Finance SSC business processes and driving continuous improvement across the NA SSC organization. Using your continuous improvement and analytical skills, you will understand and identify and create solutions for improvement that directly enhance the operational performance of the North America Shared Service Department. Your work will directly impact the success of our organization by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Utilize data analytics and related tools, observations, and core CI methodologies to understand and identify and create solutions for improvement that directly enhance the operational performance of the North America Shared Service Department.
  • Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative solutions, working with cross functional teams including other onshore, shared service departments, function experts form the business we serve and offshore partner.
  • Participate in formal proposals for continuous improvement projects to various levels of management to secure approval of the projects as well as project updates including project completions status, risks and mediation plans
  • Establish clear and well-articulated implementation plans, highlighting objectives, outcome indicators and performance measure indicators.
  • Identify available resources (for example, people, material, and finances) and secure employee commitment (ex: process managers) for proactive change management.
  • Collaborate with leadership & cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee and measure implemented solutions post implementation including continued sustainability.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • The ideal candidate will have shown demonstrated passion and proven experience in process improvement or a similar role; supporting financial accounting areas such as general accounting, accounts payable, or cash application, etc.. 5 to 10 years of CI experience in a large complex international business is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Certification in Lean or Six Sigma (preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated client service orientation with demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams including outsourced team members, across company, geography, time zone, and culture.
  • Th CI analyst role is a hybrid position (mix of in-office and work from home) and could require some travel (less than 15%).

Quality and Process Control Manager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of quality systems and process control strategy related to the vinyl siding production process for the Holly Springs, MS plant. The incumbent will lead efforts to analyze and reduce process variation, develop preventive controls and ensure quality standards are upheld. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Central Engineering, Product Management and other critical functional areas to deliver on key organizational objectives with a specific focus on process control and quality systems.

  • Responsible for managing the Process Engineering function at the facility.
  • Collaborates with site leadership and Engineering to drive Operational Excellence through efficient and effective process controls and process design.
  • Administer process and product validation activities to ensure outputs meet requirements.
  • Lead the design and implementation of sustained processes and improvements for new and existing products, including documentation, visual management and training.
  • Maintain technical competence and keep informed on new developments in materials, process technology, and product applications to assure the most appropriate methods and materials are used.
  • Collaborates with site operations leadership to troubleshoot processing problems, and implement control & reaction procedures for operators.
  • Collaborates with site leadership, Engineering, and Operations for the planning and execution of experiments on current production processes and implement engineering improvements to optimize process windows.
  • Manage data collection, analysis, prioritization and presentation of results/recommendations for improvements to leadership team and R&D.
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to assure process standardization to minimize variation.
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • 10 years of Quality / Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline required
  • Six Sigma green belt preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, etc. required
  • Strong Technical writing and verbal communication skills required

Production Operator III, Finishing Specialist

We are a growing Company building our Wood Center of Excellence for our wood ceilings/panels offerings. In line with this, our Strongsville location is currently recruiting a Finishing Technician for 2nd shift.

The Finishing Technician is a 2nd shift position reporting directly to the Production Supervisor in Strongsville. The position is responsible for operating the technical aspects of the Finishing line to include operating spray booths, maintaining spray pumps, and participating in roller coating activities. The Production Associate will be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities for the operations in his/her assigned area. The Production Associate must be able to: • Work a rotating shift schedule on an alternating basis (from days to nights, vice versa) • Report to scheduled work on time every day • Work nights and weekends when scheduled • Work overtime as required • Work in an environment that is hot in the summer and cold in the winter • Wear personal protective equipment that may include: hearing protection, steel toe boots, safety glasses, FR clothing, Hard Hats, masks, and respirators • Lift, push, pull up to 70 lbs. • Carry up to 50 lbs. • Safely operate a powered industrial vehicle (forklift, etc.) • Safely load product on flat bed trailers • Work productively as a member of a team Starting pay is $18.50/hour and benefits begin on the first day of employment!

Impact:

Maintains and installs equipment, troubleshoots machines and makes repairs to the facility.  Also responsible for other duties as assigned and determined by business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following; other duties may be assigned):

  • Safely performs machine repair and troubleshooting using OSHA and Saint-Gobain standards. 
  • Make repairs or fabricate equipment.
  • Disassemble production machinery and plant equipment to locate defective parts.
  • Remove and replace defective parts such as bushings, bearings, shafts, arbors, filters, pumps, gears and motors.
  • Reassemble production machinery and check manufactured parts to assure conformance to product specifications and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Perform repairs using the tools necessary to complete the task anywhere on the property.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or processes to determine root cause of problem to institute a corrective action including:

1.)   identify high maintenance problems and implement corrective procedures in a safe and efficient    manner.

2.) Interact with equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot and order replacement parts.

  • Paperwork, data entry and administrative tasks including:

1.) Maintain maintenance supply inventory records.

2.) Complete machine repair documentation using CMMS software.

3.) Participate as an active member on a WCM Pillar team.

4.) Specify and requisition electrical and mechanical materials.

Education:

  • 2 years Technical Degree or apprenticeship in Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Field of study Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 Years Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems background with experience in industrial equipment maintenance or equivalent demonstrated ability required.

 Technical Skills:

  • Basic PC Skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to manage multiple priorties and to clearly communicate information received in both written and verbal forms.

Saint-Gobain is seeking a skilled team player to join our dynamic Maintenance group in Hoosick Falls, New York. The Instrumentation &; Controls Technician is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the production equipment to ensure minimal production down-time and a safe work environment.

Candidate should be able to install, setup and troubleshoot temperature, speed, weight, pressure, flow and thickness sensing instrumentation. Able to monitor and troubleshoot controls using programmable logic controllers. Set up and tune loop controllers and PID loops. Maintenance and repair of electrical industrial control systems. Production equipment includes; material handling, bulk chemical systems, batch mixing, web coaters, extruding, converting and packaging equipment.

The Instrumentation &; Controls Technician is also responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the facilities equipment such as: HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, motors, pollution control equipment, life safety, electrical power distribution, network, hoists, docks and automated doors.

The position requires scheduled shift work, weekend work and emergency call-ins during off shifts to support production. The Technician will report into the Maintenance Supervisor.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

We seek candidates with the following knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in industrial, electrical, electronic or instrumentation technologies preferred - will consider those with HS Diploma or GED along with a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance
  • Experience in troubleshooting PLC based control systems (Rockwell Software preferred)
  • Experience with analog temperature, pressure flow, speed and weight measurement
  • Experience with discrete sensors
  • Experience with process loop calibration and equipment
  • Experience with industrial control networks such as MODBUS, BACnet, TCP/IP
  • Experience with motor controls and VFDs
  • Working knowledge of major systems including HVAC, electrical controls, plumbing, lighting, docks, overhead/sliding doors and life safety
  • Experience using electrical test equipment
  • Proven ability to work independently, be solution-oriented, adapt well to change, work accurately with detail and communicate effectively
