WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Assist in the set-up, run, and monitor any one of the metallizing machines. Ensures the machine is producing a quality product in a timely fashion.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position (includes the following; other responsibilities may be assigned):

  • Assists in the set-up, run, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair (as required) of any one of the Metallizers.
  • Performs and ensures quality inspections of raw and metallized film.
  • Prepares and ensures production and department documents, such as roll tickets, run log, maintenance log, utilization sheets, and sample work-up sheets are complete and accurate.
  • Follows standard operating procedures, set-up specifications, supervisor's instructions, and housekeeping policies.
  • Operates a forklift and/or pallet jack to move product.
  • Acts in a safe manner at all times. Follows all company policies and procedures as they relate to safety reporting. Reports all safety incidents or hazards immediately upon occurrence.

Non-Essential Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Records preventive maintenance.
  • Communicates with other plant personnel and supervisors regarding production issues.
  • Informs the supervisor of any parts or supplies needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and necessary.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One or two years of college or four-year military service preferred.

This role is essential to ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. You will work across multiple stages of production, contribute to continuous improvement, and help maintain the high standards that define our manufacturing operations.

The Quality Technician ensures that non‑conforming products do not continue through the production process and are not distributed to customers. This role conducts routine quality inspections throughout production, including in‑process and final inspections, using a variety of precision measuring tools to ensure products follow specifications. The position also supports equipment calibrations, workstation audits, document management, and customer complaint resolution.

Quality Auditing & Inspection

  • Audit the entire manufacturing process from raw material receipt to finished goods shipment to ensure adherence to specifications, regulations, and certifications.

  • Conduct routine quality inspections throughout the production or manufacturing process, including in‑process and final inspections.

  • Use analytical methods and precision measurement tools to monitor processes and verify product conformity.

  • Assist with customer complaint resolutions and corrective action implementation.

Equipment Calibration & Operator Training

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, calibration, and training for all analytical equipment used in the quality assurance process.

  • Verify calibrations with standards on a scheduled periodic basis.

  • Train operators on the proper use, care, and maintenance of analytical equipment, including new‑hire training and annual refresher courses.

  • Maintain analytical equipment and support workstation audits.

Documentation & Process Support

  • Implement and maintain a document management system.

  • Manage external testing processes, including sample shipment, data collection, and data organization.

  • Suggest process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency.

Maintenance Mechanic III - 3rd Shift

Join us at Saint-Gobain, Worcester, MA. THIRD SHIFT schedule which is Monday to Friday, 9:00 pm - 5:30 am.

  • Pay range is $35.26 to $38.79 per hour, plus 3rd shift differential of $2.00/hour.
  • In addition to the hourly base, this position is eligible for a monthly incentive bonus and Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)

The Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for the most complex troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance for all facilities, manufacturing and production equipment and systems, to include areas of low voltage electrical, hydraulics, carpentry, fabrication, machining, welding, plumbing, vacuum, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and/or other general facilities mechanical disciplines. Also leads the installation, dismantling, or movement of machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings. Must understand the basic principles behind Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Materials & Products

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses a vast array of sometimes complex and aged mechanical tools and equipment and determines the most appropriate method and parts required to effectively complete the given job.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the particular intricacies of various types of metals, chemicals, equipment and/or machinery properties and parts for preventative maintenance and repair duties.
  • May assemble, install and/or repair wiring, low voltage electrical and electronic components, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, pipe systems (i.e., pneumatic, hydraulic) unique machinery, and equipment.

Equipment

  • Removes and replaces defective parts for complex problems using hand /power tools, drills, welding equipment, wrenches, hoists, cranes test equipment, and/or varying gages.
  • Utilizes a broad skill level of a mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic in nature tools to repair and maintain shop equipment.
  • Must be able to set-up and fabricate machine components on lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Fabricates, assembles, and tests parts using a complete range of mechanical hand and power tools including precision measuring devices, instruments, and gauges, metal fabricating tools and welding torches.
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance, installation, and/or repair of equipment through varying trade disciplines, using computer systems, as well as cross-functional responsibility

Procedures

  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems throughout the facility.
  • Analyzes, identifies, and corrects mechanical faults of improperly operating or inoperative machinery through varying trade and/or mechanical processes. Diagnoses mechanical problems by instrumentation, sound and visual observation and determines how best to resolve the problem.
  • Inspects work of Maintenance Mechanics I & II to assure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Tests and runs-off machines to ensure proper operation and correction of the identified problem.
  • Records maintenance and repair work performed and the duration of time used per work order. Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories.
  • May be responsible for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) or the specific practices and procedures to safeguard employees

 

 

 

 

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with related trade school education, apprenticeship and/or experience.
  • Previously demonstrated broad mechanical expertise understanding complex concepts related to machinery, electrical, hydraulic equipment, properties of metals, welding, and/or piper/plumbing functions required.
  • The ability to read and comprehend various diagrams, schematics and mechanical blueprints is required.
  • Knowledge of trade mathematics and machinist handbook formulas in computing and verifying dimensions in the planning, layout out, and final dimensional checking process.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Trade or Vocational certifications preferred. Other particular trade certifications or in-depth experience may be required, (i.e., HVAC/EPA certifications, weights & measures technology).  Fork truck license required.
  • This position requires at least twelve months' work experience to become proficient in all phases of the job to work independently.

 Complexity

  • Works from complicated prints, sketches, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawing equipment repair manuals/sources, and specifications drawing from several years of experience and training. Responsible to design and implement a custom mechanic fix or “work around” to a problem.
  • Responsible for complex operations that involve advanced techniques, detailed work sequences, or high degree of precision.
  • High degree of interaction with customers and vendors regarding equipment intricacies and requirements.

Latitude of Judgment

  • Performs a full range of maintenance mechanic assignments using independent judgment to make decision requiring the application of procedures and practices to complex work situations.
  • Often absent of direct supervision, responsible for the complete process to diagnose, test, and perform corrective mechanical action on sometimes-aged equipment.
  • Exercises significant judgment in determining the methods and techniques required to solve complex problems. Researches and recommends improvements to equipment and processes in order to achieve optimum efficiency. 
  • Works as a subject matter expert with responsibility for the training/mentoring/oversight of work for Maintenance Mechanics I & II.

The Facilities Technician position involves knowledge of basic machine maintenance, maintaining coolant systems, equipment, and housekeeping. This position also supports sitewide activities through the completion of basic plumbing, carpentry, or housekeeping tasks. The role will also complete any duties required by the Maintenance Lead or Facilities Manager. The technician will also be expected to identify and resolve basic process problems and implement cost reduction ideas, as well as address any urgent safety concerns.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles
  • Operate scissor lift and basic forklift. Experience with both is preferred; certification will be provided during the course of employment.
  • Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out
  • Forklift skills are a preferred
  • Basic electrical knowledge (i.e., determine if power is on/off, for LOTO purposes, and changing bulbs)
  • Basic plumbing and pipe fitting used on coolant systems, plant water systems, and pneumatic systems
  • Basic machine repair (belts adjustment, filter replacement, disassembly/reassembly of coolant systems)
  • Basic carpentry tools, saws, drills, etc.
  • Housekeeping of the entire facility, which includes machine coolant changes, trash changes, shoveling/salting sidewalks, setting up and tearing down for events, etc.
  • Basic hand tools knowledge
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental regulations, as required.
  • Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS. Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.

PLC Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day preventive maintenance tasks and repair of electrical power and electronic equipment, troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, PLC programming, and assisting with any mechanical repairs. Will possess a thorough understanding and hands-on experience with electrical & electronic maintenance principles. Troubleshoot machine breakdowns, repair situations, and safely restore the machine to the proper operating condition. Must adhere to all company safety policies while performing tasks and at all times when on the premises.

Essential Functions:

  • The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, modify or create programs, and spec new PLCs if replacement is necessary.
  • Must have a solid ability to solve machine operation problems using a skill set of deductive reasoning and electrical test meters.
  • Conducts inspections and replaces or repairs non-operational equipment and/or components of equipment that are hindering the equipment from operating efficiently.
  • Should have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of electrical principles and adequate skills to understand various plant processes.

PLC Reliability Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily activities needed to support and comply with requirements surrounding plant maintenance activities.
  • Be on call in a rotation with the other day shift electricians.
  • Testing electrical systems and equipment using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Rebuild components to be used on the equipment in the plant, along with reading and interpreting blueprints and layout instructions, and having knowledge/understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic theory.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints schematics, and wire control panels.
  • Must be able to write and/or modify PLC programs.
  • Will assist line mechanics and electricians as necessary when needed to support production, including all of the above-listed tasks and other means of support as needed.
  • Will participate in training to continue to enhance PLC skills
  • Follow all safety precautions while performing tasks at all times
  • All areas are to be clean and clear of any debris before/after maintenance days and holidays.

Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 0-7% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.

Mechanical Maintenance

Why do we need you?

Day shift for 1-3 months during training, and then moves to night shift 5:38pm-6am

We are seeking someone who is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying a wide range of plant machinery and systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components. The position requires skilled troubleshooting using blueprints and work orders, performing fabrication and welding, and ensuring all tasks are completed safely in accordance with plant safety rules, SOPs, and NFPA 70E standards.

The technician must organize tools and parts efficiently, operate equipment safely, maintain a clean work area, and complete all assigned maintenance tasks while adhering to required safety training and reporting protocols.

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Several years of mechanical maintenance experience in a continuous‑process industrial environment (required)

  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and apply new knowledge quickly
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting methods
