Position:

  • The employee has shown leadership, maintained an excellent attendance and Safety record, work ethic, & attitude.
  • Employee demonstrates good communication and teaching skills and can interact with contractors, management, and fellow workers.
  • Employee has demonstrated competence in the core skills and the essential duties of three maintenance crafts: Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics.

Essential Duties:

  • Support Maintenance activities in absence of supervision.
  • Assist in employee training and complete assigned training.
  • Assist in Inventory, spare part specifications, and tracking of used parts
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance planning and complete PM task as assigned
  • Ability to assist with major maintenance and capital projects planning, design & implementation
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic (PLC) problems and make the needed repairs.
  • Fabrication & installation of systems

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining efficient operation of various drives as well as calibrating instrumentation controls throughout the manufacturing production lines.
  • Responsibility to provide support to plant staff engineers in all projects in the areas of design, installation, documentation, and training, and additional employees with various projects.

    • Possess the ability to replace a 3-phase AC motor verifying correct rotation without Supervision
    • Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC drives and motors up to 480V
    • Ability to perform preventative electrical maintenance
    • Ability to bend and install various types of conduit
    • Ability to pull and terminate various types of wire
    • Demonstrate proficiency and safety in the operation of electrical test equipment (MMM and Amp Meters)
    • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot blown fuses, photo eyes, relays, breakers, etc.
    • Demonstrate the ability to safely troubleshoot and/or reset the plant drives and servo panels
    • Demonstrate the ability to install varying voltages of transformers
    • Demonstrate the understanding of control voltage and Remote I/O
    • Demonstrate the ability to perform basic PLC troubleshooting
    • Able to lead a team of electricians in troubleshooting and project work
    • Ability to work while wearing a respirator
    • Able to work independently or with a team.
    • Must be able to work 8 to 12 hours on his/her feet, lift 50 lbs. on a repeated basis over a normal workday, and climb ladders safely
    • Preferred knowledge to operate scissor lift, man lift, bobcat, and forklift
    • Maintain 5S of work area and equipment.
    • Fill in for an absent or vacationing employee in the same role
    • Perform administrative duties when necessary

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in a technical field, and/or requisite maintenance experience that lends itself to a working knowledge of machines, their operation and spare parts needed.
    • Must demonstrate core competencies of effective communications, listening, and have strong organizational skills.
    • Must understand purchasing procedures and MRO parts distribution, be computer literate, and have the knowledge of computerized maintenance systems, or possess the ability to learn.
    • Must be comfortable with physical aspects of the plant’s environment; i.e., working with various byproducts of raw materials used in the operation.
    • Minimum time requirements of 1-year Electrician II and 12 months free of any written disciplinary (requirement for bid job procedure)
    • In order to abide by certain OSHA and local government agency regulations, mandatory safety training, protective gear, and chemical handling procedures are required.

Promote a safe working environment that complies with proper use of PPE, proper disposal of waste solutions, report incidents and participate in functional department safety meetings. The Extrusion Operator will safely operate extrusion machines, feeding raw material into machine to create medical-grade tubing and profiles, per detailed drawings, attribute specifications, and routing notes. Must perform dimensional inspections to ensure product is extruded in accordance with the provided specifications using micrometers, calipers, tape measure, pi tape, optical comparator, and other measuring tools. The Operator must also record in-process inspections and verifications using Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Operator is responsible for machine setup and tear-down between jobs. Must be mechanically inclined and proficient with computers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safely produce silicone extruded products and practice trouble shooting processes with limited supervision.
  • Read and interpret written work processes, manufacturing aides, models, and basic prints.
  • Proficient in the use of general computer programs and current industrial technology including QAD, MQ1, and FACTIVITY.
  • Perform designated job functions adhering to standards as defined by SOP’s, MOP’s, ISO standards, & GMP.
  • Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools for defined processes.

  • Able to perform general math equations, knowledge of metric and standard systems, complete accurate documentation, multi-task, and stand for multiple hours.

Process Engineer II

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Job

 The position is responsible for initiating, developing, implementing, and maintaining production processes in conjunction with production personnel.  The position will help define process parameters and offer the engineering support that will allow manufacturing to meet established product specifications, quality standards, productivity objectives, lead times and safety standards.

Role Responsibilities

  • Improve production efficiency and enhance profitability through the application of World Class Manufacturing principles using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Implement Cost savings Projects arrived through data driven losses in Material, Downtime and Waste.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to Operators and Manufacturing personnel on the production floor to identity opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Plan, devise, design, and participate in the completion of capital and non-capital projects in any technical area of the plant.  Improve manufacturing capability, process control, product quality, and fixed or variable costs.
  • Lead, direct, develop, and train personnel on new processes, equipment, and procedures as required while maintaining existing process documentation. Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Provides general technical support and leadership to the plant supervisory and hourly employees.
  • Write project reports and make oral presentations of work progress to articulate and convey project developments to all appropriate supervisory, management, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Maintain technical competence and keep informed on new developments in materials, process technology, and product applications to ensure that the most appropriate methods and materials are used.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and governmental guidelines, rules, and regulations pertaining to health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Assist with Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations for losses in productivity and machine downtimes.
  • Perform risk assessments and assist with creating and updating job safety analysis. Conduct weekly SMAT Audits.
  • Participate in Incident and Near Miss investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Support of the product line providing production management and technical support to both the internal and external customer base
  • Supports all ISA (Internal System Audits) activity.
  • Participate in the plant’s World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and governmental guidelines, rules, and regulations pertaining to proper business controls, legal and EHS issues.
  • Responsibility for projects that are typically significant assignments within the annual plant objectives and may involve new products or processes and/or expansion of capabilities. Considerable ingenuity and the ability to work independently would be expected.
  • Responsibilities will require detailed follow through from start to finish on assigned projects to include complete project ownership. This may require some weekend work from time to time to accommodate for production schedules.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Self-motivated with the ability to gather and coordinate resources to complete projects.
  • Training and demonstrated understanding of statistical methods especially relating to SPC and Six Sigma principles.
  • Previous experience with process optimization

  • Ability to diagnose and prioritize opportunities in areas of savings, throughput improvement, and yield improvement.
  • Must be able to design experiments and provide statistical analysis of those trials as to effectiveness.
  • The incumbent may supervise small groups of non-exempt technicians or group leaders and provide technical direction to less experienced engineers, group leaders, and operators.
  • Seasoned knowledge of engineering theories and principles that would normally be acquired through a bachelor’s degree is required (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • Strong computer skills, excellent time management, analytical, flexible in adapting to changing situations and business conditions.
  • High skill and comfort level with Auto cad, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to function and safely perform tasks in a fast-paced continuous process environment.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in an appropriate manufacturing environment.
  • Willing to learn and grow from current experienced engineers, operators, maintenance craftsman and manufacturing employees.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $79,500 to $123,400 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $134,740.

  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
