WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Responsible for all aspects of the Supply Chain for the Falconer, NY manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for developing and executing short and long-term business strategies focused on optimizing sales, service, working capital, operational efficiency, and operating profit while leveraging the global supply chain plan. Control materials and production schedules to successfully balance production requirements, inventory turns and purchase prices, while delivering customer requirements on-time and in full. Responsible for managing all material, supply, and service purchases for the facility. This position requires frequent interaction among staff levels and across internal and external customers and suppliers, most notably Sales, Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance, Applications Engineering & Customer Service. This position requires effective collaboration with the global Saint-Gobain purchasing organization. Individual will have responsibility for problem-solving and decision making, improving purchasing planning processes, and reducing working capital while ensuring the security of supply. Must have the ability to make rapid independent decisions based on supplier conditions, inventory, internal customer needs and/or market changes.

Purchasing: Manage procurement activities including demand planning, placing purchase orders and tracking supply of packaging, facings and other raw materials to optimize supply and working capital at the lowest delivered cost ensuring no stock outs disrupting the production schedules. Understand and utilize the Saint-Gobain purchasing best practices.

Production Planning and Scheduling: Support all aspects of planning, including overseeing raw material and finished goods inventories to best support customer requirements and customer stocking agreements Review and track production data and compliance to the schedule. Identify and escalate any risks to future production plans (material supply, capacity or labor constraints, process issues, etc.) Review and reconcile production work orders to ensure inventory accuracy and perform schedule updates.

Distribution: Manage and plan all receiving, shipping and warehouse activities and personnel to effectively address effective material flow into the plant and effective finished product flow to our customers addressing their receiving needs.

Vendor Management: Effectively manage relationships with suppliers: manage pricing and terms, and manage vendor accountability for delivery and quality of their products and analyze potential new vendors ensuring that performance is in alignment with Saint-Gobain purchasing and quality objectives (supplier quality management protocols).

Employee Development: Coach direct employees for growth and continuous performance improvement. Coach plant personal on purchasing, planning and distribution policies and procedures and provide training as needed.

Support: Participate / provide support for continuous improvement initiatives such as WCM, 5S, SMAT, and other safety or process improvements. Pillar Leader for Customer Service and Focus Pillar.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing or related field required
  • Masters or MBA Degree preferred
  • 5 years of work experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of planning and production scheduling required. 
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in managing, coaching, and developing employees required. 
  • The ability to lead a supply chain group throughout the manufacturing process.  The ability to schedule products to meet customer demand. Work with suppliers to get raw material in on time, processed into our system, and kitted for production to produce.  Scheduling the finished goods to be sterilized and completing the process by shipping the final product to the customer.
  • In-depth knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems and business processes (i.e. MRP)
  • Planning and Inventory control experience
  • Purchasing expertise

Production Inspector

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Part inspections will entail use of Calipers, Micrometer, Ring and pin gages, indicators,  as well as other common inspection equipment.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform in-process inspections on manufacturing products along side the operators using various precision measuring equipment.
  • Ensures manufactured parts conform with all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports.
  • Identifies and segregates all non-conforming parts found during product inspection through the completion of non-conforming material reports, and provide feedback to operators during operation.
  • Assists with customer required “over-inspection”, to minimize machine/ operator down time.
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.
  • Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Complete all paperwork correctly and legibly. Perform all tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the direct supervisor.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

 

  • High School degree, GED or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, in a Quality capacity is a preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.

What’s the job?

The Maintenance Manager position requires strong leadership skills, and ability to interact with all departmental functions within the plant, including but not limited to, safety training, repair of equipment, predictive maintenance planning, and preventative maintenance of existing machines.

  • Develop and implement TPM and AM schedules on all plant equipment.   Develop Work Instructions explaining the needed maintenance to be done on the machine.   Audit, track progress and post TPM measures and results.  Carry out Clean to Inspect events (Tender, Lubricate and Care).
  • Design and initiate a Training program (Maintenance) to effectively train associates and maintain current communication with them.
  • Design, develop, initiate and present innovative engineering ideas for viable new equipment designs and mechanisms for production machinery to promote more efficient and profitable processes.
  • Supports the manufacturing activities of all products through maintenance of machines, spare parts, buildings, grounds and repair activities to meet customer schedule commitments within quality and cost objectives.
  • Select, train, develop, evaluate and motivate an effective workforce and continuously works to upgrade their skill level. In concert with Human Resources, develops and implements on-going skills assessment and training efforts, both on and off the job, to constantly upgrade the skill level of supervised employees.
  • Maintains continuous dialogue and communication with the Operations Manager and Plant Manager, as needed, to keep him/her apprised of the status of safety, schedules, problems and opportunities available to maximize efficient operations and to enhance overall company manufacturing operations. Displays a personal and professional commitment to the continuous improvement process

Customer Experience Associate

This position will be required to work on a 10:30am-7pm EST. schedule M-F.

The Customer Experience Associate (CEA) will drive, gather and support customer feedback and loyalty creation across all CertainTeed businesses.   • Proactively promote CertainTeed products and identify opportunities for business development and sales opportunities. Knowledge base and strong communication of all CertainTeed products and promotions.
  • Participate in best practice input around knowledge sharing and enhancements to the team for better efficiency in call center.
  • Capture verbatim customer insights and data through platforms such as Salesforce. Proactively gather insights and pain points of each touchpoint.
  • Support all CertainTeed business in building strong relationships and portfolios of loyal customers and prospecting customers.
  • Collaborate with the Managers, CX team, staff at plant level and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are constantly being met.

Process Engineer (Essential Of Manufacturing)

Whether you're starting your career or looking to transition into the manufacturing field, our 18-month Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) program represents the first step in your journey with us. This program is part of a full-time, permanent position and supports the first 18 months of your career at Saint-Gobain.

Program Overview:

Our 18-month development program places participants in a full-time operational role, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their manufacturing skills while gaining exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Each participant is assigned to a manufacturing site for 18 months and travels quarterly to other Saint-Gobain facilities across North America. Participants spend 80% of their time on local site projects and 20% on EOM program activities.

Many of these activities are designed to accelerate career development and long-term professional growth, including virtual and classroom training, hands-on learning experiences, and a wide range of networking opportunities. Participation in training sessions and quarterly events is mandatory to complete the program. Participants are expected to attend all activities unless exceptional circumstances arise.

While start dates may vary, the EOM program officially begins each July and concludes 18 months later, in December of the following year. After completing the program, EOM engineers work closely with our dedicated HR team to identify an operational role at one of our 160 sites across North America. The Finishing Operator I position sets up and operates various types of machines or hand tools for multiple grinding/finishing operations. Product handled may be in forms ranging from initial shaping to final finishing.

  • Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
  • Oversees the training of production employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating any of the manufacturing equipment and that they follow the standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to production.
  • Maintains workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas.
  • Reviews and approves employee time in the UKG timekeeping system and ensures employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with the respective sites pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements.
