CertainTeed has an exciting career opportunity for a Plant Controller.

This position supports the Ottawa, ON and Redcliff, AB manufacturing plants by providing operational and financial reporting, as well as in-depth analysis of plant performance and results. The role ensures compliance with company financial policies and procedures and maintains effective internal controls. It also proactively identifies opportunities to enhance performance and profitability while safeguarding company assets through adherence to established control processes.

This position can be based either at our headquarters in Mississauga, ON, or at our plant in Ottawa, ON.

Responsibilities:

30% Lead month-end close activities, including detailed analysis and timely reporting of financial results

  • Oversee inventory verification and controls across raw materials, finished goods, and precious metals to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and post journal entries in coordination with the centralized Shared Services Accounting (SSC) team
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial performance and variances to support decision-making
  • Analyse manufacturing variances and identify key drivers impacting plant performance
  • Complete account reconciliations
  • Produce and deliver comprehensive month-end reporting packages
  • Support and present financial results during Plant Manager Financial Reviews

20% Coordinate and support the development of the annual operating budget and periodic forecasts

  • Perform analytical review of budget assumptions, providing constructive challenge and insights
  • Prepare and maintain product standard costing and year end revision and rollup

10% Ensure proper internal controls and compliance with Company policies and procedures

  • Coordinate and support annual plant gap review, adapt to Internal (ICRF) control manual
  • Support internal audit activities, coordinating plant responses and follow-up

40% Business Partnering & Operational Support

  • Partner closely with Plant Management to support operational and financial decision-making
  • Actively participate in plant leadership meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support plant and operations management needs
  • Identify operational issues and initiate analyses to reduce waste (labor, materials, and spending)
  • Monitor, report, and validate cost reduction initiatives, ensuring accuracy and sustainability
  • Support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives and Cost Deployment activities, including the development and tracking of plant cost-saving project

Other duties:

  • Oversee and reconcile annual physical inventory (Q4)
  • Support capital expenditure appropriation request development and payback analysis
  • Coordinate and support annual fixed asset desk review, triennial fixed asset audit

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA, CMA or equivalent, complementary work experience
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and IFRS.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the plant’s financial results
  • Strong systems aptitude to deliver effective reporting (paperless web-enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools and MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations – High level Excel skills preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
  • Capable of leading a process team and able to define clear vision, goals, and service standards
  • Ability to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the location
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across plant and functional organizations.
  • Demonstrated client service orientation
  • SAP experience highly preferred
  • Experience with Power BI is considered an asset
  • Confidence in project management, transition and knowledge transfer

Chamfer Operator - 3rd shift

Saint-Gobain located in Wayne, NJ is looking for a Chamfer Operator – 3rd shift

  • The 3rd Shift work schedule is Monday to Friday 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
    • Training will be on 1st shift 7a-3:30p for approximately 3 months
  • The pay rate for this position is $21.00 an hour (0-4 years machine operator experience) to $23.50 an hour (5+years machine operator experience).

Setup, control, and operate chamfer equipment. Inspect & measure product characteristics to ensure acceptable quality level according to standard operating procedures, work instructions, check sheets, one-point lessons, visual guides and standards.

  • Work Safely at all times- using prescribed PPE, safe lifting techniques, assessing risk before beginning any task, handling materials & lubricants with care, maintaining vigilance with surroundings & co-workers.
  • Set-up and operate equipment to achieve production work order quantities by following current operating procedures, work instruction and support documentation.

  • Update associated records, forms, checksheets, computer files, logbooks, etc. with required information- as described in operating procedures, work instructions, control plans, checksheets, etc. (for example: product descriptions, lot codes/dates, measurement data, visual acceptability, etc.)
  • Participate in team communication sessions (for example: team meetings, shift-change meetings, tool box talks, safety training/review sessions, etc.)
  • Follow Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication (CIL) standards, 5S cleaning schedules, general housekeeping practices, maintain organization & general cleanliness of area equipment, machinery, tools, and work area as scheduled or as needed. If CIL checklists are in use, update the checklist as appropriate for your work shift.
  • Update Daily Control System (DCS) or Machine Board, if applicable, as required. Follow Trigger Point/Escalation Protocols as defined.

The Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Manager of Commercial Building & Infrastructure group owns and leads the monthly S&OP process guiding all functional areas of the business in understanding supply scenarios for decision making.

The S&OP Manager - CBI oversees the accuracy and execution of the forecasting for CBI business (both manufactured and sourced items), the development of market analysis for residential and commercial products, demand planning (domestic and international) and coordination with sales, analysis and efficiency of plant utilization, accuracy of forecasting, the performance of the customer supply chain management (OTIF), and the explosion of finished goods forecasts for raw material requirements.

The ideal candidate must be a confident leader and have a clear and thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management and its components. This role requires an expert level understanding of SAP and other planning software.

This position is responsible to manage the entire Sales and Operational Planning cycle for CBI, which includes a Consensus Demand Plan, Supply Review, which concludes with the Executive Management Review of high-level decisions of Sales and Operational plans and provides subsequent analysis as needed to continue to drive efficient and agile plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Manages the Sales and Operations Planning process
o Leads monthly senior level management committee reviews
o With input from sales, history, and market indicator analysis, decides on the best forecast for mid-term planning for all facilities and regional markets
o Executes the yearly production build process with Operations, Product Management, Finance, and Supply Chain
o Plays a leading role in the Long Range (5 year) budget process which provides guidance on long range capacity plans
· Demand forecasting, at aggregate and SKU levels including US, Canada, and international
o Develop finished good demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
o Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
o Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
o Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool. Plays a key role in the development of current and future sales forecasting software
· Provide input to the organization in developing inventory strategies on existing product offering, new products, and product phase-outs.
· Manages and Mentor any and all demand planning analysts within the CBI org.
· Maintenance of planning data in ERP system to align with service and inventory objectives.
· Responsible for the distribution and analysis of Streamline KPIs for the Supply Chain Group.
· Participates in supply chain network analysis studies to ensure optimization of overall network.
· Supports the report out of slow moving and obsolete (SMO) inventory management process.
· Perform as CBI SC lead for all Demand Planning Logility Governance council meetings.
· Plays an integral role in SAP implementations.
· Not limited to additional special projects assigned.

The Office Administrator provides administrative and operational support to the Plant Manager and site personnel. This position is responsible for performing general office duties while supporting the plant’s safety, compliance, human resources, inventory management, internal communications, and continuous improvement functions. The role also serves as a confidential liaison between the plant and both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and actively promote all compliance and safety standards by identifying and addressing potential risks and communicating concerns to leadership.
  • Provide administrative support to plant operations to help ensure the site meets or exceeds key safety, reliability, quality, and service metrics.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees, contractors, vendors, and plant visitors.
  • Perform core administrative duties including answering phones, maintaining office supplies, handling mail, generating correspondence, scheduling meetings and events, and resolving routine issues.
  • In coordination with the Sr. HR Operations Manager, serve as the onsite HR liaison by supporting employee screening, onboarding and offboarding, timecard management, payroll processing, training coordination, and employee inquiries.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking policies, programs, and training initiatives to ensure consistency and compliance across the plant.
  • Lead initiatives that foster employee engagement and strengthen community relationships.

The Business Process Readiness Manager is a critical role within CertainTeed Siding's Project Management Office (PMO), and owns the enablement of commercial growth by activating new plants, warehouse locations and navigating the various legal entities within the organization's structure and ERP ecosystem. This individual ensures that all master data, system configurations, and intercompany trading relationships are established correctly and timely so that sales can operate seamlessly, data flows accurately between legal entities, and the end customer experience remains uninterrupted.
 
 This role sits at the intersection of IT systems, supply chain operations, finance, and commercial enablement. The manager will work across multiple ERP environments, including SAP and other platforms, ensuring consistent and compliant setup across all systems.
Essential Functions: 
1. Site & Entity Activation and Maintenance
·    Lead end-to-end activation of new warehouse locations, manufacturing plants, and subcontractors within SAP and other ERP systems, ensuring all organizational structures, storage locations, and plant parameters are correctly configured.
·    Manage the onboarding and changes related to new legal entities into the ERP landscape, including company code setup, chart of accounts alignment, and intercompany relationship configuration.
·    Manage the subcontracting system requirements arising from utilizing outside vendors for various value-added services (painting, lamination, etc.) and create processes and SOPs to support the successful day-to-day operations of the business, including but not limited to order placement, order fulfillment and inventory management. 
·    Coordinate with finance, IT, operations, product management, and supply chain teams to align system readiness with physical site go-live timelines.
2. Intercompany Operations & Data Integrity
·    Design and govern intercompany trading relationships in SAP, enabling legal entities to sell materials to one another through automated intercompany billing and stock transfer order (STO) processes.
·    Ensure accurate and timely data flows between SAP legal entities, including pricing, material master data, customer and vendor master records, and profit center assignments.
·    Identify and resolve data inconsistencies that impact intercompany order fulfillment, invoicing, or financial reconciliation
 
3. Sales Enablement & Customer Experience
·    Partner closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Order Management teams to ensure that system configurations directly support the ability to take and fulfill customer orders without disruption.
·    Validate end-to-end order-to-cash flows following each site or entity activation, confirming that pricing, availability, shipping, and invoicing function as expected.
·    Act as a point of escalation for system-related issues that impact customer-facing operations, coordinating rapid resolution across IT and business teams.    
4. ERP Integration & Program Management
·    Manage integration touchpoints between SAP and other ERP systems in the enterprise landscape, ensuring consistent data exchange and process alignment across platforms.
·    Lead cross-functional project teams through structured activation programs, maintaining project plans, RACI matrices, risk logs, and status reporting in alignment with PMO standards.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, control, and monitoring of quality systems and standards that ensure the quality of materials and products at every stage of production. This role ensures compliance with corporate quality policies, regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and customer specifications/expectations.
 
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer takes a hands-on approach to support continuous improvement quality systems. These systems include receiving, in-process and final inspection, product auditing, certification, calibration, complaint handling, EVENT/CAPA/SCAR processes, nonconforming material control, product stewardship, and regulatory requests. The role will involve supporting ISO internal audits, training operators, participating in customer and registrar audits, management review, and overseeing document control.
 
A key aspect of this role involves utilizing risk-based thinking and critical analysis to develop strategies for mitigating identified risks while maintaining business continuity. When uncertainty arises, consultation with management is required to determine the best course of action. The ability to assess strengths, weaknesses, and alternative solutions is essential for addressing challenges effectively.
 
The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in resolving customer requests and issues promptly while maintaining professional and tactful communication with both colleagues and customers. Regular, direct interaction with customers is required.
 
Actively promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.
 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

 This career position requires a Bachelor's degree - within Engineering field.
 
ASQ certifications (e.g. CQE, CQM, CQA) and training in Six Sigma/continuous improvement/WCM methodologies are preferred.
 
Professional experience as detailed below is also required:
 
- 2+ years' manufacturing experience within regulated industry.
 
- Knowledge of and experience in quality systems, such as ISO 9001, cGMP, and ISO 13485; preferred.
