What’s the Job?

Compensation: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift

Mechanical Functions

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues on heavy equipment (e.g., hydraulic, fuel systems).
  • Replace filters, belts, and other routine wear components as needed.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, or minor repairs to equipment or structures is a plus.
  • Collaborate with mechanics to address complex equipment maintenance and repair needs.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

Operational

  • Ensure equipment is operated in compliance with company policies and MSHA regulations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report potential malfunctions or inefficiencies to management.
  • Assist in optimizing equipment usage to maximize productivity.

Safety and Compliance

  • Participate in and promote a safety-first culture, including adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
  • Assist in emergency response drills and equipment shutdowns when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and operational regulations in all activities.

Team Collaboration

  • Train or mentor new operators on safe equipment usage and maintenance practices.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors on process improvements or operational challenges.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, toolboxes, and safety briefings.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

What do you bring?

  • High School/GED diploma, preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment as an operator
  • Knowledge of plant manufacturing in an industrial maintenance experience in 24 hr continuous process environment.
  • Strong customer service focus, teaming and collaborative approach
  • Flexible and open-minded with good written and oral communication
  • Heavy equipment experience (5) - Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation and/or mining and rock handling operations
  • Equipment Maintenance- Min of 3 years of experience performing basic maintenance and mechanic works on HDE

Senior Research Engineer I – Adfors

The ADFORS division of Saint-Gobain Research North America is seeking a Senior Research Engineer I to join their collaborative team.

The Senior Researcher will lead new product projects for the Business Unit (BU) with a focus on chemical formulation and textiles technology, using Stage Gate methodology. Prototype Fabrication

  • Characterize samples using various analytical techniques based on experiments designed by other engineers.

Deliver Results

  • Provide high-quality results rapidly and present data and findings in both oral and written forms.

Project Management

  • Manage and document projects effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Generate project timelines/plans, technical memos, research reports, and presentations for internal customers, project teams, and management.

Support Marketing and Manufacturing

  • Participate in pilot and production trials. Proactively seek out information needed for successful trials and deliver results as requested.
  • Travel to manufacturing sites or customers for support when needed.

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Collaborate closely with the R&D process development team, as well as other members across ADFORS, including R&D, marketing and operations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years of experience or entry level PhD in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials, Textiles or other related disciplines.

  • Hands-on experience within a chemistry lab with polymer formulation, processing, and characterization required.
  • Experience in polymer formulations/engineering in a manufacturing environment required.

Lead Quality Technician

The Lead Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of polyimide and other engineering plastic components through meticulous measurement, recording, and reporting of quality characteristics. This position involves the use of both contact and non-contact measuring tools, as well as conducting visual inspections. The Lead Quality Technician will oversee the site’s calibration program, manage incoming material inspections, track discrepant materials, generate customer Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and process capability reports, and conduct internal audits.

This role involves organizing and supervising the Quality Technician and Inspector teams, assigning daily tasks, prioritizing workload, and providing feedback to both internal and external stakeholders regarding job timelines and results. The Lead Quality Technician is expected to foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, continuous improvement, and thorough documentation of quality processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct safety observations and participate in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe equipment operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles before, during, and after each shift.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and honestly.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives focused on output, quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Handle raw materials, hazardous waste, and defective parts responsibly and in an environmentally safe manner.

  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage the Quality Notification (QN) process and control of nonconforming material, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Complete and sign-off on first and last article inspections promptly.
  • Oversee calibration programs and incoming material inspections as assigned.
  • Implement and update inspection plans and work instructions, assigning appropriate metrology to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilize Minitab or similar software to generate process capability and SQC reports.
  • Interpret customer part drawings and GD&T to develop quality inspection plans.
  • Provide training and support to Quality Technicians, Inspectors, Screeners, and Shipping/Receiving personnel as needed.
  • Serve as a reference point for quality-related inquiries and recommendations.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership capabilities who can cultivate a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.

  • High school or equivalent is required.
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical. equipment and procedures. Must have experience with hand and power tools.

  • Must have flexibility and will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis.

  • Maintains the Maintenance Department work area and other maintenance parts areas. Clean-up after each task and on a daily basis performs care for tools and proper storage. Responsible for 5S and housekeeping as it pertains to maintenance parts, the maintenance shop, and maintenance jobs
  • Conducts OSC safety training and supervises maintenance and facility contractors when assigned. Provides leadership and job skill development for colleagues and contractors as needed
