What’s the Job?

 

This position is responsible for the management of all Purchasing activities and projects under their scope as well as the oversight for the Shakopee, MN (based), Portland, OR(remote roofing facility)  and Denver, CO (remote warehouse) facilities.  This position will perform all purchasing activity (including but not limited to: negotiation, management of spend, bid management, and execution of contracts for both goods and services).  This role will focus on cost savings, strategic purchasing improvement, implementation and adherence to global compliance, and utilization of internal digital tools while providing timely service to internal customers.

  • Act as both a tactical and strategic Purchaser for the site and business unit while prioritizing cost savings initiatives.
  • Engage the plant’s technical teams early in the buying process to ensure compliance of purchasing methodology and proper management through the bidding platform.
  • Foster site compliance regarding the North American Purchasing Policy [NAPP], Purchasing’s Internal Controls Reference Framework [ICRF], Gift Policy, and Credit Card [One-Card] Policy.
  • Ability to manage projects for sites which they oversee, evaluate spend, to develop site portfolios for site agreements and cross-site/business synergies to leverage contract negotiation.
  • Drive compliance of the company’s digital tools to ensure everything is bid out according to policy, vendors are validated, and savings/avoidance is properly tracked/reported.
  • Utilize the law department library of contracts for all capital, equipment, and service transactions.
  • Process/monitor purchase orders and act as full-scope vendor liaison (i.e. bid walks, quotation, negotiation, purchases, contracts, risk qualification, SGCT Drug & Alcohol Policy, etc).
  • Execute and review monthly reporting to ensure proper site operations, commitments are reconciled, and on-time payments are achieved.
  • Hold regular training sessions and monthly Purchasing meetings with the plant staff regarding Purchasing procedures.
  • Documentation Process Coordinator for files and records (i.e. quotations, purchase orders, reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and audit guidelines.
  • Required to sign Purchasing Charter, participate in online and in-person training sessions, weekly/monthly conference calls and meetings, and engage in plant level meetings as defined in the operations cadence.
  • Travel to the remote sites must be visiting monthly/yearly based upon need, as well as travel for site audits, vendor tours, emergencies, and events (Buy-Techs, events, staff meetings).

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $79,500 to $123,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,500 to $135,850.

  • Diagnose, repair & maintain all systems on mobile equipment such as; forklifts, wheel loaders, as well as various other mobile equipment. This includes, engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic systems among many others.

IPG Category Manager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position is responsible for managing a defined purchasing category within North America with an annual category spend between $50-$150 MM USD. This position is accountable to define and maintain the strategy, facilitate the communication between SG and supplier (s), as well as full control of cost and the impact to the business. This will include strategic negotiations with suppliers, vendors, external parties and close collaboration with our business.

The position will play an important role in problem solving as it relates to business continuity, risk mitigation and consistency of supply. The position must have an ability to analyze any data points (supplier score cards, history, market trends, inventory requirements etc.) and form a long term strategy to support the businesses. Need to own the categories/BU managed and be accountable for any production interruptions caused due to supplier performance.

All Purchasing Corporate Policies and Procedures must be implemented and adhered to both at the category and site level.

Strategic raw materials sourcing management:

  • Manages the key raw material categories across the IPG (Intertape Polymer Group) sector covering seven sub business units and over 13 sites. Key Categories include: Acrylic Resin, Phenolic Resins, Green Binder Resin related raw materials: citric acid, corn syrup, maltitol & sodium hypophosphite, Batch & Additives, and other critical raw materials for the Architectural Solutions, Finishing and Corner businesses.
  • Create, maintain, & present to IPG Management team the strategy, provide monthly recommendations for directions with suppliers, for our manufacturing sites & future commitments regarding volumes and forecast communication
  • Establish clear and formal long-term strategies for the sourcing of raw materials in line with Business Units goals and objective with good and direct communication with Management.
  • Lead the monthly strategy review for managed category (ies) requested by the business with the proper Steering Committee group
  • Work with R&D for cost savings opportunities, Business Continuity Planning (risk mitigation) and New Product Development initiatives.
  • Work with EHS and Corporate team in topics related with EHS, CO2 emissions, etc.
  • Responsible to create and maintain a deep understanding of markets for the managed Categories, including key players, appropriate indices, material cost cake, trends and sharing recommendations with leadership
  • Lead RFP’s and supplier negotiations and contract implementation. Continuously challenge suppliers and obtain competitive prices on all raw materials. All RFPs required to use ProSource and are accompanied by the Supplier Charter and all contracts uploaded in ProcureNet
  • Implement formal supply agreements / contracts with all key suppliers with the help of the legal group and any other required department (e.g.: EHS, Finance, R&D, etc.).
  • Work across several CertainTeed Business Units for relevant raw materials categories and create cross-BU strategies in the best interest of the company.
  • Work with the Global Team (GIM) / Paris with information sharing, data, etc.
  • Identify, lead and implement projects, such as VIP (Vendor Innovation Partnership), VAVE (Value Added / Value Engineering), etc. with suppliers to right size specifications of raw materials or components purchased in order to increase end customer value and/or reduce costs.
  • Ensure raw materials sourcing is compliant with Region Purchasing Policy and Purchasing ICRF (Internal Controls Reference Framework)

Innovation, R&D Collaboration:

  • Animate and manage R&D – Purchasing reviews for CT Insulation
  • Identify and collaborate on Innovation projects with Suppliers and CT R&D teams.
  • Create, Map and track CO2 emissions related projects
  • Work with finance, IPG Management and cross category management teams to prepare all the RF budgets and yearly budget per the agreed reporting formats.
  • Conduct external benchmarking and market research to help with budget reporting.
  • Prepare presentations and present to the management committee and finance committee

Other Programs and Reporting:

  • Adhere on full compliance to the Saint-Gobain Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives (Supplier Charter, Ecovadis, Timber Certificates, CO2 emission, etc.) and manage the suppliers with our company programs.
  • Provide inputs to various Saint-Gobain reporting schedules: Budget, RF’s, etc.

This position will support the maintenance department in the rationalization, planning, scheduling, and at times execution of maintenance activities to drive improved, sustainable plant reliability in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Roofing’s Objectives. The Reliability Engineer will also provide leadership in the implementation and support of plant process modifications for both Roofing and Granule operations as required.

  • Identifies new opportunities and solutions with cost/benefit analysis and makes recommendations to improve efficiencies.
  • Performs root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable countermeasures on losses related to downtime.
  • Analyzes / stratifies accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc. in support of continuous improvement of reliability.
  • Revises and maintains existing processes; develops and implements WCM initiatives, manages and guides contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Leads and participates in Yellow Belt Breakdown projects following the WCM methodologies to become certified in the Reliability pillar.
  • Ensures full documentation of all projects and systems to WCM, Technical Office, and/or Project Management Office (PMO) standards.
  • Prepares and maintains data sheets, wiring, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), flow charts, and Bill of Materials required for the proper and efficient operation of plant equipment as part of reliability projects.
  • Progressively improves the Professional Maintenance status of all equipment on a prioritized basis using WCM techniques and ensures sustainability of completed improvements by the Maintenance team.
  • Collaborates with Plant and Corporate Resources (ex: Engineering, Maintenance, Production) to develop a Preventive Maintenance program that drives improved reliability.
  • Supports Autonomous Maintenance through training & coaching of Operators and ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained. Provides training for Operators and Maintenance personnel.
  • Develops and implements standard operating & maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
  • Supports the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Creates, reviews, and enhances detailed maintenance tasks and routines configured within the CMMS.
  • Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects and preparing expense & capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities and coordinating with other departments to assure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.
  • Assists in automation training of technicians, associated automation troubleshooting, and reduction in mean time to repair automation failures.
  • Engages with multiple Roofing sites to support the business level objectives and goals.
  • Assures good housekeeping practices following 5S principles, enforces plant rules and safety regulations.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities that support business needs as required.

Pay Transparency

The Product manager has the global responsibility of a product line has a strong focus on developing and re-enforcing competitiveness and value proposition of its product line.

  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Inspect machines for wear and defects in operation, replace defective parts, and make mechanical/electrical adjustments and repairs to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoots and performs emergency repairs.
  • Update, modify, and/or change equipment as upper management assigns.
  • Maintain detailed Preventative Maintenance records.
  • Follow the proper procedure for replacement parts as removed from inventory.

  • Install transformers and install plus program VFD drives.
  • Have a full understanding of control voltage and Remote I/O.
  • Maintain 5S and cleanliness of work area and equipment.

Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include: (Edit as needed for role)

  • Shift Differentials (i.e. sixty-five ($0.65) cents an hour in addition to the job rate shall be paid to employees working on the swing shift beginning from noon to 6:00 p.m. and eighty-five ($0.85) cents an hour shall be paid to employees on the graveyard shift beginning between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.)
  • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
