Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Assembler is responsible for multiple tasks in the manufacturing area. These tasks include prepping parts, assembling subcomponents, machines, and additional tasks as required. This position is essential to ensure machines are assembled in a manner that meets our quality standards and productivity requirements.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Production Area:

  • Prepares components for use in the assembly area.
  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions

Safety:

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • Ensure all assembled machinery complies with industry regulations and standards
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools

Quality:

  • Conducts quality control checks
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Ensure that all assembled machines meet quality and safety standards
  • Report any discrepancies or problems to the supervisor and suggest improvements

Other Duties:

  • Provide suggestions and ideas to continuously improve safety, quality and process
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to achieve assembly goals

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under limited supervision at times
  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented is a must

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or GED or previous experience in an assembly operation
  • Experience using powered and non-powered hand tools such as drivers, ratchets, drills and saws
  • Basic blueprint reading

Industrial Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

In alignment with company vision, mission, values, and objectives, the technician will troubleshoot, repair, maintain and improve mechanical systems with the intent of improving uptime and efficiency.

  • Shift duration: 8hr shift times - currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Base rate: $29.15 - $33.46 based on demonstrated Technical Skill Level
  • EFFECTIVE RATE: $30.78 - $39.08 this rate reflects what you’ll earn after factoring in shift differentials and OT pay
  • Shift Differential: $0.35/hr 2nd Shift and $0.45/hr 3rd Shift

**Hands on and written skills evaluations are required for this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Ensures operation of machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and/or other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical and electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical and electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Troubleshoot/Diagnose 3-phase, up to 480V causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operation equipment, utilizing standard electronic test equipment while referencing technical drawings and documents
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Documents time through work orders and creates notification within SAP CMMS system
  • Uses Quick Kaizens to help with completing root cause analysis
  • Helps to create BOMs for equipment by creating equipment ledgers
  • Create and update documentation of all types: schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams, maintenance logs, standard operating procedures, and instruction manuals, to keep documentation accurate, available and ready for use as needed.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • High School Education and/or AS or AAS Electrical/Electronic Technology Degree, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology or AS or BS in Electronics Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology or
  • Five to ten (5-10) years of professional experience and knowledge in maintenance disciplines, such as automated control systems, safety qualifications, and professional industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires adaptability, methodical/analytical problem solving skills, and employee leadership skills with the ability to effectively apply these skills in a manufacturing facility.

PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Systems Technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

Pay Transparency

 

Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. The base pay offered for this position starts at $32.82 and may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.

In addition to base hourly wage, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is a percentage of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the transportation of raw materials within the Plant using heavy equipment, including front-end loader, forklift, and bulldozer, to offload barges and feed materials into feeders and hoppers. The position takes quality samples of various materials, performs manual labor, maintains housekeeping standards, and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Operate and maintain mill according to established procedures and processes
• Move recycled wallboard using front-end loader forklift to feed machines and conveyor belts
• Move gypsum rock in the Dome using the bulldozer
• Manually remove both dry and wet powder from under conveyor belts to clean the area using hand tools
• Maintain equipment in proper working order
• Assist with off-loading of ship and barges by securing the ship to dock, monitoring rock lines, and filling of the dome
• Perform housekeeping duties as required
• Change filter bags annually
• Observe written safety plant regulations and instructions
• Check, collect, and organize all parts and tools prior to starting the job
• Maintain a safe work environment and recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss. Required to complete safety audits/inspections of the assigned work area.
• Support 5S and World Class Manufacturing initiatives
• Work within the Safe Work Process and Permitting procedures in CertainTeed Gypsum Inc.
• Report to work on a regular and consistent basis
• Other duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal plant operation is 24 hours, 7 days a week and work hours may vary depending on business needs. May require long hours, and weekend and holiday work.   • Compare internal orders with packing lists. Verifying/Receiving/inspecting and signing for shipment and courier deliveries. Unpack, inspect, sort and put stock away in appropriate locations.
  • Load and unload trailers and operate material handling equipment such as forklift or pallet jacks.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts, maintain and organize inventory, ensure stock is in the correct location while keeping the warehouse clean and safe.

With safety as the top priority, the Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. - Carpentry: Performs general building repairs. Performs interior and exterior painting. Remodels and/or builds offices.

Extruder Operator, Manufacturing, Life Sciences Akron, OH - Off Shift Availability Required

Per contract Hire In Rate is $22.27 and hour with a .75 shift differential for 2nd (4:00PM-12:00AM) and 3rd shifts (12:00AM-8:00AM).

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisors, the Extrusion Operator is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient manufacture change-over, and setup of tubing; profile extrusions and braided tubing, including winding, packaging and Quality functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisors, the Extrusion Operator is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient manufacture change-over, and setup of tubing; profile extrusions, and braided tubing, including winding, packaging, and Quality functions.

Daily Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Timely setups
  • Maintaining line speeds while generating minimal scrap
  • Making adjustments to extruder controls, downstream equipment, change screens, dies, pins and screws as required
  • Uses all tools and equipment provided by the company in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Follow ISO Procedures.
  • Inspection and quality of finished product
  • Uses various measuring devices and systems to determine product quality
  • Making all packaging components for finished product.
  • Correctly completing all records that are required for the job; Production Records, Quality Records, Setup Charts, 5S charts

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED

Qualifications:

Manufacturing/Production Experience Preferred
Able to read and follow SOP’s and Work Orders
Able to accurately use calipers and other measuring devices
Mechanical aptitude
Good general math skills
Good communication skills, oral and written
Ability to work independently and as a team member
