Director, Regional Human Resources Operations (West Coast)

The Regional Human Resources Operations Director is a strategic and operational human resources leader responsible for driving human resource excellence across a large, geographical network inclusive of Saint-Gobain sites (Region Business Units, including former HPS, and Industrial Solutions Business Units).

This role leads a team of HR professionals and partners closely with operations leadership to align people strategies with business goals, ensuring workforce readiness, compliance and a high-performing, TEC culture.

The Regional Human Resource Operations Director also collaborates with HR central functions to execute Saint-Gobain HR strategies consistently across North America aligned with the Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

Responsibilities

 Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 15 – 20 HR professionals in a geographic region
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through Trust Empowerment and Collaboration (TEC)
  • Drive leadership development and succession planning across the HR function
  • Plan, monitor, forecast and report on an annual regional budget to ensure effective resource allocation, cost control and alignment with organizational goals

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives
  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning and change management initiatives
  • Prioritize collaboration with other regional HR Leaders for consistency across all geographies

HR Operational Excellence:

  • Standardize and optimize HR processes across all locations in collaboration with HR central functions and the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies across designated states

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Manage escalations and complex employee relations issues
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive culture

 Community Relations:

  • Drive community activities and outreach through program execution
  • Support partnerships with universities, colleges, technical and vocational schools
  • Represent the organization in industry and community engagement efforts to strengthen employe brand and pipelines

Learning & Development:

  • Oversee compliance and culture training initiatives
  • Support M&A integration needs

Workforce Planning:

  • Lead the execution of workforce planning, competency and skills matrix development and succession planning activities
  • Oversee end to end recruitment for sites in a designated geographic region in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Must reside in the assigned region with the ability to travel 50%+ to support states and locations within the assigned region (WA, OR, CA, NV, ID, UT, AZ, HI)
  • 15+ years progressive HR experience, particularly in manufacturing operations and multi-site management support is required
  • Bachelors Degree in HR or related field is preferred
  • Union/CBA experience is required
  • Considerable experience managing teams is required, in particular from a remote perspective
  • A strong ability to influence and gather and influence teams
  • Advanced communication abilities are vital in the success of the position as a conduit between corporate HR functions, business unit priorities, and site HR support

Senior Project Manager R&D PMO

This position may be based in either Northborough, Massachusetts or Malvern, Pennsylvania. 

Job Summary

CertainTeed is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional R&D projects that drive innovation in building materials and systems. This role will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—from concept through commercialization—ensuring alignment with strategic goals, customer / market requirements, technical feasibility, and operational readiness.

The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in advancing the strategy to support CertainTeed R&D, and CT business units. Building on a strong foundation in project management, this role requires strong business acumen to manage complex projects, coordinating closely across multiple functions and business leadership teams. In addition to project management, the role will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating program risks and communication with key stakeholders.

You will partner closely with engineers, designers, researchers, and business stakeholders to deliver critical companywide projects, while also providing a strategic lens to project planning across multiple initiatives and mentoring junior team members as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to understand complex concepts, translate them to clear action plans to communicate to stakeholders, and be able to drive decision making based on those conversations. Consensus building, stakeholder management, and a pro-active approach are all required skills for this role.

Essential Functions

Stakeholder Communication

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and communicating the business value, status of initiatives, and critical decisions.
  • Ensuring timely communication of project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.

Project Ownership

  • Lead end-to-end project management, translating evolving business and R&D needs into clear project plans.
  • Developing and managing detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Manage more complex projects or multiple workstreams, proactively aligning teams, resolving blockers, and ensuring consistent progress toward goals, including execution of project tasks.

Strategic Contribution:

  • Support the Innovation and Sustainability Portfolio Manager in refining PMO vision and roadmaps by bringing forward customer insights, market trends, and technical feasibility considerations.

Team Enablement

  • Mentor newer team members and contribute to the team’s evolving ways of working as project capabilities grow.

This position is responsible for operating various types of machinery and carrying out the daily tasks assigned by the supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

SAFETY

  • Follow standardized work processes and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Inspect machines/tools prior to use and understand safety interlocks and light curtains.
  • Understand necessary communication for hazard/risk prevention.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, glasses, ear plugs, and safety toe shoes).

QUALITY

  • Accurately operate and read tape measure, calipers, squaring table, protractor, and feeler gauges.

PRODUCTION

  • Able to operate machinery alone to SOP, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Able to assemble and package finished good materials.
  • Accurate data input into ERP system for operation time, yield, scrap, and material consumptions.

Injection Molding Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Injection Molding Technician will be responsible for the 3rd shift (10:30pm-7am) operations of the molding department. Which will include Mold Set-Ups, Thermoplastic Processing, Basic Machine Maintenance, Scheduling, Shift Changeovers, and ensuring a high level of Quality. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manufactures close tolerance plastic parts by setting up and operating an injection molding machine, while maintaining high safety standards, equipment, and all quality documentation. 
  • Set-Up and Run New Production Jobs when Scheduled.
  • Ensure manufactured parts conform with all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports.
  • Runs production safely and consistently measuring all critical areas per sample lot size.
  • Deburrs and bags all production in accordance with the router steps and stamps off operations before moving to the next operation.
  • Maintains 5S work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Reads blueprint drawings and work orders to understand and meet customer specifications.
  • Produces parts by following the work orders, blueprints, and programming folders.
  • Sets up molds for each work cell and maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Maintains drawing specifications by observing process temperatures and injection pressures to detect non-conformances.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
  • Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and optical comparator.
  • Informs supervisors and team leads when machinery needs repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, and actively demonstrates SG principles of conduct & action.

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written materials including blueprint drawings, job orders, etc.
  • 5+ years experience in thermoplastics processing.
  • 5+ years prior experience in set-up and operation of injection molds and auxiliary equipment.
  • Experience using inspection equipment and following quality procedures.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and program equipment.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

Plant Manager

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the Wilmington, California manufacturing facility to achieve operations goals and objectives regarding plant safety, environmental, quality, service, profitability, capital investment, cost reduction programs, strategic operations planning - all while maintaining a positive employee relations climate.

Managers of the Production, Engineering, Materials Management, WCM, Quality, and HSE functions report directly to the Plant Manager. The Plant Manager actively leads overall site safety and environmental initiatives to achieve and maintain world class performance and will direct and coordinate all operations related to production and shipment of roofing products produced at the Wilmington facility.

Main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage, direct and coordinate all operations directly related to production and shipment of all products produced by the facility: Materials Management, Manufacturing and Manufacturing Systems, Facilities Engineering/Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Shipping and Receiving, Process Engineering, Purchasing
  • Manage, direct and coordinate Plant staff functions and daily operational activities. Ensure people training and development activities to foster our TEC culture providing future leadership opportunities.
  • Staff all above functions, as appropriate to the most effective achievement of operational and strategic planning, goals and objectives (short term and long term).
  • Provides key leadership to quality, efficiency, productivity, EHS compliance and cost savings for the facility.

  • Provide top leadership for positive labor relations and compliance to the sites CBA.
  • Drive systematic cost improvement and state-of-the-art processing through WCM program.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or similar discipline required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a people management capacity required
  • Proven success managing a unionized workforce required
  • Ability to foster and establish effective working relationships - with plant employees and outside stakeholders/contacts - required

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450.00 to $135,850.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Lead Operator

The Lead Operator reports to the Production Supervisor and oversees the duties of the production shift line, including accountability for a specific portion of the operations function. They are responsible for managing labor on the shift, monitoring Machine Operator performance, handling assigned reports, monitoring downtime, and ensuring shift issues are addressed promptly.

The Lead Operator is committed to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring quality control throughout the production process. They actively participate in problem-solving, engage with associates, and address issues on the line to promote a safe and efficient work environment. Additionally, they must be capable of performing all machine operator duties as required.

  • Maintain labor utilization above minimum expected level and “no operator” downtime below maximum expected level.
  • Track the performance of plant labors within shift.
  • Ensure that all Operators are trained and have current training records
  • Coordinates work assignments within the production department that includes training, technical support and/or process/trouble shooting support.
  • Works with internal resources to resolve problems.
  • Ensures adherence to department policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and environmental health and safety requirements.
  • Provides input into procedures as required.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with support departments.
  • Assists employees in resolving conflicts.
  • Responsible for the paperwork to start up and shut down their line or area
  • Coordinate break schedules and assist with machine operation during breaks

 

 

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write, perform the four basic math functions, and be physically able to perform the essential duties
  • 1-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a basic knowledge of 5S
  • Adherence to strict safety policies
  • Adherence to the highest quality standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment, raw material & process deficiencies
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization
  • Must have the ability to recognize and prioritize various tasks/projects at the same time
  • Must be able to work 8 to 12 hours on his/her feet, lift 50 lbs. on a repeated basis and climb safety ladders when necessary to complete various tasks within the position
  • Must work well with other team members on a team and other teams
