  • Manage and develop the World Class Manufacturing Safety and Environmental pillar.
  • Proactively promote, train, and coach the plant teams in the aspects of EH&S.
  • Work with the CertainTeed EHS Director to identify key health and safety trends for the site and propose appropriate plans to improve performance.
  • Conduct, train, and coach the site on proper root cause analysis using the CertainTeed Gypsum RCA tool.
  • Provide monthly progress updates for the environmental health and safety pillar activities.
  • Identify, adapt, and adopt company and industry best practices.
  • Conduct routine gap analysis of internal safety standards and execute actions to negate deficiencies.
  • Develop a cross-functional team from Production, Shipping, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to create annual budgets and action plans for health and safety activities.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with neighboring businesses and communities.
  • Ensure on-time reporting of all regulatory requirements.
  • Work with maintenance and engineering to develop EHS requirements section with-in work order format.
  • Develop and implement new employee training orientation and job requirements.
  • Track environmental, health and safety compliance.
  • Maintain behavior base safety database and provide monthly progress and stratification.
  • Develop and train cross functional teams in root cause analysis and other key safety tools.
  • Train workers to perform critical task audits and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Work with the Facilities Engineer to manage Risk Prevention requirements related to EHS.
  • All environmental, health and safety reporting. Environmental compliance
  • Undertakes studies and projects as necessary when assigned by management.
  • Conduct noise level testing and explore ways to reduce noise through engineering noise reduction projects.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene sampling per internal and external requirements.
  • Manage the hearing conservation program which includes baseline and annual audiometric testing.
  • Work with Human Resources to drive healthy lifestyle initiatives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for improvements in ergonomics, workflow, and housekeeping.
  • Facilitate incident investigations with the department managers, following up on all root causes and retrospective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and conduct inspections, risk assessments, and training as appropriate.
  • Manage all EHS recordkeeping.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of EHS events.
  • Present EHS progress during Business Reviews and World Class Manufacturing audits.

General Laborer

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. The General Laborer is expected to follow all warehouse safety rules and procedures. The scheduled shift is 6:30am – 3:30pm M-F, with over time as needed. Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include operating forklifts, maintaining a clean/organized workspace, sorting/organizing/recycling dunnage, light facility maintenance, and various other tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to operate different types of warehouse equipment including forklifts, follow specific directions, and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain a good attitude to accomplish results in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry 55 lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

The warehouse is not temperature controlled; noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. The facility has heavily congested areas due to high volume of moving trucks and forklifts.

Job Summary

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (required)
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering is (preferred)
  • 7+ years Progressive engineering experience (required)
  • Excellent analytical skills, hands-on approach, proactive safety approach and sense of urgency in problem solving required. Knowledge of CNC lathes and mills processes and programming. Ability to read blueprints and do FMEA & PFMEA analysis  (required)
  • Familiarity with MRP system(s) like SAP/QAD (required)
  • 5+ years Machining/Toolroom experience (preferred)
  • Six signa green belt (preferred)

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $100,240 to $155,120. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

The Role

The Lab Technician is responsible for understanding and performing all quality test procedures while maintaining knowledge of the different specifications of each product. The Lab Technician tests finished fiberglass mat and raw materials used in the production process. The Lab Technician also performs audits of the product and process to maintain operational excellence. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager at the Oxford site.

The starting hourly rate is $27.79. Increased starting rates may be possible with relevant prior experience.

This is a 12 hour shift position working dedicated days or nights:

Days: 7am - 7pm or Nights: 7pm - 7am

What’s the job?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs visual inspection of finished products.
  • Completes required documents for all products placed on hold.
  • Operates and maintains all necessary lab equipment.
  • Performs quality product checks on shift per quality procedures.
  • Detects quality issues and contacts the appropriate person for immediate actions.
  • Performs routine control plan audits to maintain standards and prevent quality issues from occurring.
  • Logs all pertinent information and data into computer.
  • Works in a manner that is safe while continuously ensuring quality, production and performance expectations are met.
  • Observes safety precautions at all times and reports any safety or environmental incidents to the on-shift Supervisor.
  • Participates in and completes required EH&S training.
  • Responsible for performing monthly safety observations and other audit programs, cleaning, painting, and maintaining 5S system.
  • Places product waste and liquid chemical wastes in their appropriate designated containers with lid properly closed after disposal.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. May require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing, working on a computer, or engaging in telephone conversation.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Our manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, glycerin, latex and formaldehyde. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

Production Supervisor

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Production Supervisor is responsible for all production activities for assigned production lines. The incumbent will manage, monitor and direct the activities of assigned production line crews to efficiently produce quality products.

Production Supervisors must be comfortable with physical aspects of the plant's environment; i.e., working with various byproducts of raw materials used in the operation, and covering full length of line operations numerous times throughout a shift. The incumbent must be dedicated to providing leadership and direction for activities of assigned crews. This position will report to the Production Manager.

  • Pay Rate: $27.24 - $28.24/hr. paid weekly
  • Shift: 7p-7a; 12-hr shift on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule
  • Shift Differential: $0.35/hr during 2nd shift hours and $0.45/hr during 3rd shift hours.

Responsibilities include:

  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills.
