Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining inventory and facilitating shipping needs for all products and materials to include issuing materials to manufacturing (kitting components) for orders to be completed prior to shipping; for our manufacturing facilities in Clearwater and Largo Florida for Saint-Gobain Life Sciences.

Essential Functions

  • Store materials using assigned protocols with correct equipment.
  • Perform inventory transactions in QAD system
  • Recommend measures to improve methods and quality of product.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assess workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiate and support housekeeping and safety activities within the facility daily.
  • Communicate with the other shifts the status of parts, equipment and any other matters that potentially impact the product being shipped.
  • Coordinate department's activities with other departments.
  • Verify all forms and paperwork as needed, including manufacturing forms, work order documentation, stock movement tickets, scrap tickets, identifications tag, QA forms via electronic document storage, etc.
  • Schedule trucks for delivery and pick up of product as required for on-time expediting.
  • Be proactive in assuring all shipments are shipped on time & resolving issues.
  • Load and/or unload trucks. Subject to driving company vehicle(s) as required.
  • Research and audit inventory by conducting daily cycle counts.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.

Must be able to properly fill out time reporting and work order documentation. 

Must become forklift certified.

Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is in a production environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels are generally loud and temperatures may vary. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals, depending on areas accessed.

Warehouse Shift Leader

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Primary Objective and Scope:

The Warehouse Lead is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the Newnan warehouse during 2nd shift hours, under the direction of the warehouse management team. Furthermore, the Lead will monitor warehouse processes, product quality and provide direction to warehouse operators on their shift. Adherence to all company policies, including but not limited to Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Attendance, while on the premises.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Directly oversees the work of hourly warehouse operators on the 2nd shift (5p- 1a).
  • Exercises good judgment in the utilization of manpower, work in progress and operational adjustments.
  • Effectively communicates with all employees and provides sound feedback on job performance, escalating performance and conduct concerns timely to management.
  • Performs root-cause analysis as well as implements sustainable countermeasures on losses related to logistics.
  • Maintains workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas.
  • Directly monitors the logistics processes and production quality to ensure compliance to established company standards.
  • Leads the training of employees to ensure they are competent of operating logistics equipment and following the standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Leads the shift safety meetings and training sessions, as necessary.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
  • Transfer of recently produced finished product from the shuttle trucks to the correct inventory location and document the inventory.
  • Assist with unloading inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate areas.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Report any visual and all Quality related issues to direct Supervisor.
  • Load confirming to ensure no miss-ships.
  • Performing picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service.
  • Perform forklift daily inspections and record status of each inspection for each shift. Report any issues or damage of the forklift.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as assigned in the warehouse area including but not limited to maintaining painted rows, rework of damage pallets, organizing accessory area, sweeping, and painting of warehouse storage areas.
  • Conduct inventories of finished product and other warehouse materials – will also participate in actual physical counts of entire finished product in the warehouse and yard; cycle counts as assigned.
  • Use of computer systems and mobile equipment for various position functions including order picking, product look-up, paperwork etc.
  • Report all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.
  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA’s and SOP’s.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a valid forklift license and/or complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of forklift.
  • At least two years of experience within a warehouse role required and 1 year of leadership experience.

  • Concevoir et développer de nouveaux systèmes de procédés, réviser des procédés existants ainsi que développer et coordonner des projets qui contribuent substantiellement à la rentabilité de l’usine.
  • Participer à des essais et en exécuter afin d’évaluer les occasions liées à l’équipement, aux procédés et aux matières premières.
  • Analyser les problèmes d’opération, développer des solutions et mettre en œuvre des mesures correctives.
  • Diriger des projets importants, comme ceux de conception, de mise en service et de lancement.

RESPONSABILITÉ FISCALE

Préparer des évaluations des coûts en capital pour les dépenses qui appuient nos objectifs et contrôler possiblement des aspects des dépenses au sein du budget approuvé.

LES REQUIS

  • Baccalauréat en génie industriel, en génie électrique, en génie mécanique ou dans une discipline similaire;
  • De trois (3) à cinq (5) années d’expérience afin de posséder une compréhension approfondie des pratiques, des procédures et des régulations associées à la technologie de contrôle des procédés;
  • Membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec ou être en processus d’obtention;
  • Excellentes capacités de résolution de problème et capacité à travailler de façon indépendante sur les tâches assignées;
  • Flexible, ouvert d’esprit et bonne communication orale et écrite;
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office;

• Lead the design and execution of advanced manufacturing strategies to sustainably enhance productivity, reduce cost, and improve consistency of product quality leveraging leading edge industry 4.0 technology

• Develop automation strategies that align with business long range planning

• Collaborate with plants and functions to align business objectives to I4.0 priorities

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

• Collaborate with IT, RPG, and IPG to benchmark and implement advancements in reliability and 4.0

• Monitor current trends and the newest technologies and consider their application to SPG

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electrical, chemical, mechanical, industrial) or similar discipline required

• Minimum 10 years of applied professional experience leading and facilitating engineering initiatives in a manufacturing environment required

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $127,650 to $203,550.

  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems while meeting scheduling priorities, safety, quality productivity, and reliability requirements.
  • Develop, implement & maintain schedules & procedures for preventive maintenance programs in coordination with necessary departments and maintain logs/documents.

  • Search, negotiate, and administer contracts for the provision of supplies, parts, and services for maintenance including annual inspection of material handling equipment.
  • Plan, organize, transfer, and install machinery and equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions without compromising safety.
  • Report on a daily basis an update on equipment requiring preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts.
  • Develop required reporting forms, and documentation.
  • Identify and implement work measures to continually improve maintenance work methods, systems, productivity, safety, and quality of service.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certificate is an asset.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a steel processing or steel-making plant environment is preferred.
  • Electronic/Instrumentation maintenance experience is essential.
  • Hydraulic systems and heavy equipment experience is essential.
  • Welding skills operating mig and tig welders are an asset.
  • Forklift & overhead crane repair knowledge is an asset.

  • Proactively promote, train, and coach the plant teams in the aspects of EH&S.

  • Facilitate incident investigations with the department managers, following up on all root causes and retrospective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and conduct inspections, risk assessments, and training as appropriate.
  • Manage all EHS recordkeeping.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of EHS events.
  • Present EHS progress during Business Reviews and World Class Manufacturing audits.

General Laborer

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. The General Laborer is expected to follow all warehouse safety rules and procedures. The scheduled shift is 6:30am – 3:30pm M-F, with over time as needed. Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include operating forklifts, maintaining a clean/organized workspace, sorting/organizing/recycling dunnage, light facility maintenance, and various other tasks as assigned.
