Our site in Orange, CT, is looking for a Quality Inspector, 1st Shift (7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm) to join the team. Our Quality Inspectors compare measurements, form, fit, function, and value judgments of simple and complex parts to blueprint specifications and general workmanship standards using documents, experience, and knowledge of inspection techniques of Saint-Gobain. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring Good Documentation Practices are utilized throughout all quality records that are reviewed/completed/inspected/audited.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspect manufactured product for dimensional consistency, workmanship and finish.
  • Maintains the flow of product through inspection in a timely manner meeting due dates for outside processes and customer deliveries.
  • Inspects incoming materials for conformance to requirements, reviews certifications for conformance, issues DMR or NCMR in our ERP system if needed.
  • Performs In-process inspection.
  • Reviews certification packages for product and releases for shipment in ERP system.
  • Files electronic data on server and maintains accurate and orderly certification files in QA
  • Assists the Lead Inspector and Department Supervisor as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Quality Inspection Experience (2 to 4 years) – Strongly Preferred
  • High attention to detail and consistency
  • Experience with basic measuring equipment such as calipers or micrometers and other common inspection tools
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
  • Experience in a smaller production environment
  • Some experience with Visual Measuring Systems desired
  • Able to adapt and prioritize to meet our customer needs and expectations.
  • Team oriented - supports other team members and other teams as needed.

This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $50,900.00 to $61,400.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.]

The Facilities Leader will be responsible for providing technical and planning resources to the site for equipment, process and facility needs. This includes preventative and predictive maintenance activities, project management, building vendor relations, leading direct reports and performing recordkeeping. The Leader will provide support and development to our Facilities and EHS Technician and our custodial personnel.

The Facilities Leader will proactively work to implement a safe work environment that complies with the site specific and corporate safety goals. Exhibit good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the Company’s Policies is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops and maintains an effective preventative maintenance program for all production equipment and support systems in such a manner as to achieve business and department end results. Works with production and maintenance personnel to identify preventative maintenance activities necessary to support operations. Maintains electronic records of all plant and individual equipment performance. Ensures documented work instructions, maintenance procedures and SOPs are developed and maintained.

  • Manages facilities services required for daily operations, including utilities and contractors, both internal and external stakeholders to ensure stable, reliable operations. Ensures Contractor Management Program is followed, maintained and documented.
    Performs root cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures to reduce losses related to equipment / machinery failure.

  • Ensures follow and support site EHS programs. Supports investigation of EH&S incidents – Injuries, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage. Conduct EHS and SMAT Audits to support the plants EHS goals. Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities. Maintains work organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding team responsible for assigned work areas.
  • Stakeholder in capital expense projects to ensure compliance with all SG standards as well as regulatory requirements and compatibility to current or future infrastructure requirements.

    Executing project plan (task) by managing all day to day aspects of the projects working with the site supervisors, sub-contractors and vendors to coordinate and maintain safety, schedule, cost and project quality. Collaborate and frequently communicate with the local site team to provide current project status.

  • Supervise and lead team including scheduling overtime, training and reviewing performance. Supports the technical training and development of the team. Ensures adequate training received prior to working on manufacturing equipment.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Bachelor Degree (or at least 10+ years experience in a Manufacturing Facilities role) Operations or Engineering discipline preferred.  
    (Relevant experience and alternative technical education in lieu of a degree will be considered).
  • 5+ years’ related facilities experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • 3+ years' leadership experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitudes, and a working knowledge of air handling, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical systems. 
  • Ability to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems.
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral and analytical skills.  Good interpersonal skills.
  • Previous project management experience, with ability to design, manage, and implement projects of a technical nature. Able to keep track of multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office (Outlook, teams, excel, powerpoint) – high level knowledge of computer systems/programs especially in areas of preventive maintenance solutions/tracking.
  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement methodologies

Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will provide technical support for production using process control methods to ensure the product is meeting quality specifications. This position will focus on technical support for operations, process development and optimization, equipment design and optimization, general project engineering, and trial planning and execution.

Job Duties:

Under the supervision of the Production Shift Leader, the position is accountable for Safety, Quality, Housekeeping and packing finished siding and accessory products at the Jackson Plant.

The Production employee is responsible for producing a quality product for our customers that supports our slogan of quality made “Certain” satisfaction guaran “Teed”. Adherence to all company safety policies and precautions while performing productions tasks and at all times when on the premises.

Day Shift: 6am - 6pm

Night Shift: 6pm - 6am (Hiring only at this time)

Shift Schedule over a 2 week period - 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on. Work 15 days per month, work every other weekend (fri, sat, sun) but have off (fri, sat., sun) the next week

Pay: $17-$18 per hour

Job Functions:

  • Pack vinyl siding panels after cut off from extrusion process, follow nesting pattern and quality requirements.
  • Ensure the safety, quality, housekeeping, for the assigned areas as directed by the Production Shift Leader
  • Assist operator with line set-up, including stringing the line
  • Cut packing straps to length for boxes
  • Assemble and glue boxes
  • Visually inspect each siding panel for color or other visual defects
  • Inform operator or Area Lead of any visual defects or problems before scrapping product
  • Monitor hot glue levels, restock as needed
  • Label and number packing boxes
  • Load siding boxes onto skid
  • Strap skids to prepare for removal to warehouse
  • Perform line housekeeping duties
  • Train other packers as needed
  • Perform other management assigned tasks

Environmental Conditions: The manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms, and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Interfacing with a computerized process monitoring system requires knowledge and skills in the areas of computer navigation

The Multi-Site Plant Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the Quality Management System in alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements across multiple manufacturing locations. This role will proactively identify and report areas of concern to management while driving compliance with ISO 13485, customer specifications, and corporate quality procedures. This role will be the point of contact for customer quality escalations.

The Muti-Site Plant Quality manager will develop and implement consistent quality systems across all sites to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic initiatives as guided by the BPS Quality Director. This role will lead, train, and develop quality teams at multiple locations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Implementation and oversight of a Quality Management System that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements (ISO:13485) and industry guidance.
  • Oversee and manage Quality department personnel at each site, including Quality Lab, Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, and Focus Factory Quality Engineers.
  • Develop and implement consistent quality systems across all sites to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the BPS Director of Quality in development and deployment of policies and procedures for elements of the global QMS.
  • Support strategic initiatives as guided by the BPS Director of Quality.
  • Promote and enforce a safe working environment, including proper use of PPE and active participation in department safety meetings.
  • Investigate and report incidents while ensuring compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements and best environmental practices.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences related field (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology), Engineering, Quality, Operations Management or other applicable degree with Life Sciences experience; required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Quality function in Quality System design, development, implementation role or progressive roles held in an operations site; required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a regulated industry with preferred emphasis in life sciences (e.g., pharma, biopharm, or medical device); required.
