What’s the job?

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHSS Manager is the front-line point of contact for occupational risk management and environmental protection and conservation. This is a hands-on position responsible for creating, supporting and sustaining an autonomous EHSS culture, through mentoring and training that is consistent with the Company’s Values and Attitudes. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining EHSS standard operating procedures, risk identification, risk reduction awareness and methods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Perform inspections and observations to maintain effective functioning of Environmental, Health and Safety system and process, ensuring that tools, procedures and training are in compliance with regulatory requirements and Saint-Gobain Standards.
  • Work collaboratively with operation management and all plant personnel to proactively address and control health and safety risks and environmental impacts.
  • Ensure that all critical safety training (i.e. Confined Space Entry, Fall Control, Lift Truck Operation, Lockout-Tagout, First Aid and CPR, etc.) are current and conducted on time.
  • Participate and support risk assessments and act as a safety point-of-contact during normal operation, shut-downs, installations and other non-routine activities.
  • Conduct and ensure timely completion of workplace EHS investigations and proper accident/injury reporting.
  • Ensure timely administration of work-related compensation claims, accommodations and return to work plans.
  • Work as point of contact for MOL, MOECP, other government agencies and contractors to manage compliance, external and internal reporting requirements. Collect and escalate as necessary, EHS-related external communication inquiries from governing agencies, NGOs and general public.
  • Lead the WCM pillars and uses the WCM tools to assess, implement and manage processes required for EHS management systems and develop the EHSS culture.
  • Work with the JHSC to grow the EHS culture in the plant.
  • Maintain and manage EHSS information, documentation and records using the suite of digital solutions.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed and / or requested by management.

What do you bring?

  • Educational background in OHS or Environmental engineering studies is highly preferred, with at least 3 to 5 years of related experience in a similar role;
  • Strong active listening abilities; collect information from employees and to relay relevant facts through incident investigations and risk reduction actions;
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to conduct training sessions and facilitate group presentations;
  • Strong computer proficiency (Intermediate level - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical aptitude; experience in using EHS digital suites (Intelex, VelocityEHS, Gensuite, etc.) is an asset;
  • Good time management and task prioritization;
  • Experience of working in ISO or COR systems is an asset;
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety is an asset;
  • Experience managing WCIB reporting and return to work process;
  • Ability to research and comprehend legislative language to ensure legal compliance;

Siding Circular Economy Program Manager
Position Description
Job Summary

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Reporting to the CertainTeed (CT) Siding Products Group (SPG) Director of Supply Chain, the selected individual will serve as the responsible party to manage and ensure the success of SPG’s Recycling/Circular Economy initiatives in North America. The individual will work closely with SPG’s Management and CT’s Circular Economy leaders to define, execute, and advance the strategy to collect and consume recycled PVC materials, at a competitive cost, in line with Saint-Gobain sustainability roadmap. This includes both Post-Consumer and Post-Industrial scrap rigid PVC collected from various outside partners. This position is responsible to ensure the growth and financial sustainability of the circular economy program, mostly centered around the collection of post-consumer vinyl siding.

This position is key in meeting the Saint-Gobain group objectives related to sustainability, circular economy, and CO2 reduction. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, an innovative mindset to solve business challenges, a result-oriented business development leader adept at cultivating strong client relationships, a passion for promoting a circular economy across multiple departments, and a spirit of collaboration due to the breadth of functions involved in this effort and a commitment to process improvement as these activities will evolve and scale up over the coming years.

In addition, this position will be tasked with coordinating with Saint-Gobain in North America (Circular Economy Solutions) and globally (Circular Economy team in Paris and leaders in other Saint-Gobain Business Units) to ensure consistent sharing of best practices and alignment with the global objectives of the group. This position manages at least one and up to three Circular Economy Supply Chain Specialists who are executing the collection and logistics of the scrap PVC materials and managing the day-to-day activities of the program and reporting requirements.

Circular Economy Program Strategy

  • Design and lead strategy for the overall Circular Economy program for Siding US and Canada.
  • Owns SPG Circular Economy P&L.
  • Monitor, analyze, report, and draw upon on global trends and best practices in circular economy.
  • Manage and grow network of participating partners (distributors, builders, contractors, etc.) to Circular Economy program.
  • Manage relationships with third-party recyclers, including contract and price negotiations, in collaboration with CT Purchasing.
  • Develop and present business development opportunities for targets that are identified as strategic for the growth and future of the circular economy program.
  • Establish a strategy for and manage the logistics of the program:
    • Establish and manage bin purchasing program with fabricators in coordination with CT Purchasing.
    • Coordinate with SPG Transportation regarding carrier needs and equipment. Manage adequate supply flows of PIR and PCR materials to SPG plants.
    • Point of contact for SPG US plants to manage sales of SPG post-industrial scrap to third-party recyclers.
  • Define, improve and sustain processes for proper accounting of materials sourced and process in collaboration with CT Finance and Strategy.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies (in collaboration with SGNA CES / Advocacy team), and recycling partners, to foster collaboration and buy-in for circular programs.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Purchasing and others to coordinate activities and facilitate program success.
  • Point of contact for Sales/Product Management/Marketing to coordinate strategy and messaging on Build Circularity.
  • Conduct or support workshops, trainings, and awareness campaigns to educate stakeholders on the benefits of circular economy practices.

Partnership Development

  • In collaboration with SGNA CES, identify and pursue opportunities for government grants, subsidies, or certifications that support circular economy practices.
  • Act as SPG Circular Economy representative in various external networking events (trade associations, conferences) on an ad-hoc basis.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Owns all SPG Circular Economy program-related data.
  • Work with Supply Chain Specialist on on-going data management and reporting at a minimum monthly to upper management.
  • Manage and distribute reporting and dashboard with key metrics such as number and locations of bins, frequency of pick-up by customer, volume of material flowing through the program, transportation spend, etc.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.

We are looking to hire a storeroom clerk works to improve maintenance customer service, and prevent production downtime within budget boundaries. The Stores coordinates day-to-day transactions and maintains majority of technical parts availability. This position works closely with maintenance and production departments, planners, foremen, and supervisors.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain all of the storerooms management processes.
  • Maintain manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, or performance and inventories.
  • Receives, verifies and properly stores all MRO items and supplies
  • Review and process daily Stock Replenishment Orders; evaluate the maximum level and re-order point to determine stocks effectiveness.
  • Analyze, identify, and communicate information regarding open purchase orders utilizing out-of-network vendors; identifies, researches, and resolves problems relating to purchasing issues.
  • Create requisitions as needed; communicate purchase order numbers to vendors when received and obtain estimated delivery date.
  • Reconcile end-of-month open invoices; contact vendors for invoices still open due to short pay or unpaid material
  • Receive open action requests from Accounting or Accounts Payable to evaluate stock or non-stock; contact vendors for discrepancies.
  • Ensure all parts are identified, numbered, issued, received and are inventoried in the CMMS system, and are organized on the shelves in a systematic manner.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventories of spare parts, packaging supplies, raw materials, etc.
  • Conduct routine inventories and cycle counts to ensure that inventory levels in the CMMS and items on shelf mirror one another.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Wage: $48.49/hour

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the industrial electrician is responsible for completing electrical maintenance work as directed by the maintenance supervisor, and other plant personnel, to ensure suitable availability, reliability of plant equipment and machinery associated with the manufacture of wallboard as well as ensuring compliance with local building codes.

 

  • Maintain a safe working environment with regards to all electrical maintenance work.
  • Work within the parameters of the plant’s WCM & quality system with multi-functional teams on WCM projects.
  • Maintain strong focus on Availability/Utilization targets for process equipment.
  • Assist with improving and maintaining plant electrical, instrumentation & automation systems; including preventative, predictive, spares planning/inventory control, purchasing, work procedures & documentation.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of electrical preventive & corrective maintenance work.
  • Provide off shift support for electrical equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist in generating & recording maintenance history on SAP.
  • Must be adept at conducting IR scanning of plant equipment as required.
  • Some experience working with Maintenance SAP system.
  • Working knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash protection requirements are a must.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with machine installation experience.
  • Must be able to perform rotating shift work if required.
  • Candidates must have strong trades, written and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage a variety of jobs or projects simultaneously.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • The candidate will be a journeyperson or certified electrician. A red seal would be an asset.
  • 1 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in the wall-board, cement, mining manufacturing industries is a PLUS.
  • Extensive working knowledge of SCADA systems, preferably ‘GE’ iFix. Must also be confident working with PLC/control system Historian and ‘pulling tags’ to record trends.

Field Service Technician, VERIFI - Portland, OR, REMOTE, Construction Chemicals
Position Description
Job Summary

With safety as the top priority, the incumbent will be responsible for the VERIFI equipment suite including installation, maintenance and repair.

Candidate will perform troubleshooting services to aid customers in resolving issues and help them achieve maximum potential from our solutions. The technician will be the primary VERIFI representative at the concrete manufacturing plant. They will install and maintain Verifi concrete management systems installed on customer mixer trucks and admixture dispensing systems as needed.

The VERIFI Field Service Technician will be required to interface regularly with plant management, batch plant operators, concrete mixer truck drivers, and truck maintenance management and mechanics.

Based at home, the candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time as the only VERIFI employee at the customer sites, thereby requiring candidate to work independently.

Schedule flexibility is required. Field visits may be scheduled late at night and/or very early in the morning. 

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Installation, Maintenance and Repair

  • The technical work pertaining to Verifi includes, but is not limited to review and analysis of system performance reports to determine problem areas and develop resolutions. Coordinate problem resolution with other employees as needed always serving as the local liaison and first line of contact to the customer.
  • The technical work will include installation, preventive and scheduled maintenance, calibration, and emergency and service repair.
  • The technical work pertaining to admixture dispensing equipment includes, but is not limited to installation, preventive and scheduled maintenance, calibration, and emergency and service repair.

Customer Relations

  • Assist Field Sales Representatives in the winning and maintenance of customer contracts through building and maintaining professional relationships with customers.
  • Must have sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to represent the company with customers in a professional manner.
  • Understand the impact of customer satisfaction to achieve corporate goals.

Planning & Scheduling of Dispenser Service work

  • The technician is self-dispatched. This requires an independent self- starter, self- directed person who possesses the ability to diagnose and determine requirements, plan and schedule daily, weekly and monthly events in accordance with the needs of the company and the customer.

Equipment Service Administration

  • The service administration component requires a candidate to be proficient with computers in order to execute activities that include but are not limited to:
  • Equipment ordering, Warehouse part re-stocking, Expense reports, Service Management System compliance, Preventative Maintenance, calibration scheduling and compliance, Actively control expenses and demonstrate stewardship of company resources, Maintain real time participation CRM reporting systems, Track time, parts and incidental costs associated with each customer site and each customer truck.

Other Duties

  • Complete all safety training and on-line training modules; Observe all necessary safety procedures, both those of GCP/Verifi and those of host companies.
  • Develop a solid understanding of concrete and the concrete industry, most importantly the operations of a concrete plant.
  • Recommend modifications and product changes to improve reliability of equipment; work with the R&D team providing input to new system designs or researching/testing concept of operation of new parts and providing input to improve reliability and performance of the solution and its components.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Full product management responsibility for multiple product lines and hundreds of SKU’s:

  • Develop strategic product plans (multi-generational product plans (MGPPs)) on an annual basis to guide & drive portfolio strategy and leads process of socializing plans and resource alignment to execute.
  • Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to monitor/deliver product profitability/productivity goals
  • Establish product price positioning and set pricing guidelines; adjust through product life cycle
  • Responsible for competitive and market research working with Product Marketing and sales team. Monitor competitive product developments and drive competitive benchmarking activities.

  • Read and interpret process sheets/work instructions to perform assigned tasks
  • Set up and operate both die forming and roll forming equipment
  • Measure work piece dimensions to ensure accuracy to blueprint
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and other production operators to resolve production issues
  • Work safely at all times.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • High School or equivalent
  • At least (3) years’ experience as a manufacturing operator is preferred
  • Experience with metal fabrication processes such as die forming, roll forming, welding strongly desired
  • Press operation and setup strongly desired
  • Previous experience with wastewater treatment equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with basic measuring equipment such as calipers or micrometers
  • Experience reading and interpreting job instructions and blueprints
  • Experience in a smaller production environment

Job Summary

The Storeroom Attendant will support the Plant Maintenance and Operations activities by maintaining the Storeroom inventory at the designated levels. Work to maintain accuracy and regularly audit inventory levels, organize logical parts identification, and receive, store and stock material. Assist with inventory procurement and interact with external vendors and Plant stakeholders to maintain and ensure proper inventory integrity.

  • Maintain proper Storeroom inventory by assisting MRO Buyer to identify material to reorder and/or procure, both Plant inventory and Vendor Managed Inventory.
  • Audit inventory, cycle count, and perform root cause analysis on inventory variances.
  • Ensure Storeroom standard operating procedures are in place and executed, issue Plant inventory to appropriate Work Orders in SAP.
  • Partner with VMI point of contact to ensure accuracy and minimal out of stocks.
  • Execute our Storeroom receiving processes and entries into SAP. Such duties would include; receive regular daily deliveries, verify and validate deliveries against packing slips to ensure accuracy, reject any possible inaccurate deliveries.
  • Proactively pursue issue resolutions with vendors, suppliers, etc., for any possible missing or needed packing slips, BOL, POD’s, etc. that are required.
  • Ship out internal requests both regular delivery and freight, includes Storeroom parts repairs with proper documentation. Expedite when necessary. File receiving paperwork and documentation appropriately.
  • Assist MRO Buyer and Purchasing Manager with reconciling invoices, monitor open past due Purchase Orders, create requisitions if needed, and request for quotes.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers for further info when needed. Support month-end PO closure and other finance-led activities as needed (last day of the month).
  • Track inventory goods movements and run usage reports. Identify, recommend, and assist with inventory level changes, inventory additions, and/or inventory obsolesce.
  • Support inventory system data integrity by validating info is accurate.
  • Material handling duties can require lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying 50 pounds.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Minimum of 1 year of inventory/material handling experience. Storeroom experience a plus!
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system experience.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to update and maintain computer inventory records.
  • Ability to read and prepare packing slips and labels.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities and projects.
  • Meet the needs of a diverse, dynamic and a fast-paced organization while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Must be able to traverse the storeroom quickly and efficiently.
