WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

***While this position is remote, candidates must live in the Shreveport, Louisiana area***

With safety as the top priority, the Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Performs troubleshooting services to aid customers in resolving issues and help achieve maximum potential from our solutions. Will be the primary representative at the concrete manufacturing plant. Will install and maintain admixture dispensing systems for each Ready-Mix producer.

The FST will be required to interface regularly with plant management, batch plant operator and personnel. Based at home, the candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time as the only GCP/Chryso employee at the customer sites, thereby requiring candidate to work independently. Schedule flexibility is required. Field visits may be scheduled late at night and/or very early in the morning.

Installation, Maintenance and Repair

  • Technical work pertaining to admixture dispensing equipment includes, but is not limited to installation, preventive and scheduled maintenance, calibration, and emergency and service repair
  • Coordinate problem resolution with other employees as needed always serving as the local liaison and first line of contact to the customer.

Customer Relations:

  • Assist Field Sales Representatives in winning and maintenance of customer contracts by building and maintaining professional relationships with customers by performing regular site visits not necessarily relative to equipment needs or outages.
  • Regular site visits to check on admixture levels and customer needs.
  • Must have sound judgment, excellent communication &time management skills, & the ability to represent the company with customers in a professional manner.
  • Understand the impact of customer satisfaction to achieve corporate goals.

Planning & Scheduling of Dispenser Service Work:

  • An independent self-starter, self-directed person who possesses the ability to diagnose and determine requirements, plan and schedule daily, weekly and monthly events in accordance with the needs of the company and the customer.
  • Interact directly with internal as well as external customers daily and demonstrate organizational skills, planning skills, customer orientation and project management skills.
  • Responsible for managing ‘response time’ consistent with customer expectations or agreement.
  • Must be on continuous call to respond to customer requests for assistance; diagnoses and solves technical problems, providing on-site assistance to customer locations for proper application of our equipment/products.

Equipment Service Administration:

Proficient with computers in order to order equipment, Warehouse part re-stocking, Expense reports, Service Management System compliance, Preventative Maintenance, calibration scheduling and compliance, actively control expenses and demonstrate stewardship of company resources, maintain real time participation CRM reporting systems.

Other Duties:

  • Complete all safety training & Observe all safety procedures, both of Saint-Gobain & those of host companies.
  • Develop a solid understanding of concrete/concrete industry, most importantly the operations of a concrete plant.
  • Recommend modifications and product changes to improve reliability of equipment
  • Work with R&D providing input to new system designs or researching/testing concept of operation of new parts and providing input to improve reliability & performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years' experience in mechanical/engineering work (1 year of education beyond high school counts as 1 year of experience)
  • Experience with computer systems configuration, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, 12/24-volt DC electrical systems, and hydraulic system principles
  • Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented, particularly about maintaining records
  • Hands on Electro-Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree
  • Experience in field service type work/trailer hauling
  • Working knowledge of the Ready-Mix Concrete industry

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and comply with facial hair policy for respirator users
  • Must be able to comply with DOT requirements for a Non CDL commercial motor vehicle driver medical certification exam; drug screen, background check (safety performance and driving record)

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 8% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $64,800 to $78,840. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

What’s the job?

The Night Shift Production Supervisor position reports to the Boardline General Foreman and is responsible to provide leadership and direction for the activities of the assigned production crew to safely and in an environmentally responsible manner achieve production goals within cost standards.

General responsibilities include demonstrating a commitment to quality; train and hold production workers accountable for meeting all established standards: develop effective teamwork and utilize innovation to achieve production goals and other assigned duties; and ensure the continuity of production by effective communication with other production shifts and the maintenance department.

  • Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment and the safety management of assigned employees. Must recognize unsafe conditions and practices and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss. Required to complete safety audits/inspections of the assigned work area; thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, job safety analysis and have periodic safety meetings.
  • Responsible for implementation of Housekeeping Plans, specifically within the Department
  • Monitor the production processes and product quality. Direct efforts to adjust the process or equipment to maintain quality and production.
  • Train, schedule and assign production personnel to work activities within the terms of the labor agreement.
  • Effectively communicate with maintenance, other production shifts, quality control personnel, warehouse personnel and plant management. Makes corrections to malfunctioning equipment, established scheduling priorities, product changes, product quality, and the resolution of personnel problems.
  • Tracks and reports daily shift performance measurements.
  • Educate employees through evaluation of training requirements. Develop and implement a training plan for assigned employees.
  • Maintain workplace organization and ensure good housekeeping practice by holding employees accountable for their assigned work areas.
  • During weekends and during night shifts, oversees the entire plant and is responsible to immediately communicate with management abnormal events or circumstances.

Rotating Night Shift Work Schedule:

This position is on the Night Shift from 7PM to 7AM on a 2 on / 2 off / 3 on schedule. Must be able to work weekends to accommodate this rotating shift.

Training Coordinator

The Training Coordinator will be responsible to ensure our team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties successfully.  The role involves leading employees through on the job practical, hands on training combined with classroom and procedural training.  The incumbent will support supervisors and managers increasing and tracking overall competency and development.  The Training Coordinator will enhance training programs, including developing processes and training documents. The Training Coordinator will work with the HR and Operations managers to identifying and implement improvement initiatives, monitoring their effectiveness, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The role will analyze processes and develop improvements to enhance efficiency with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, WCM, etc.

This role will require a daily presence on the shop floor, working alongside operators and engineers to develop a thorough understanding of our manufacturing processes, documenting these processes, and creating and delivering high-quality and engaging training to new and existing operators. Working with the HR and Operations managers, the incumbent will identify opportunities for process improvements and work to evaluate and bring improvements into practice.

This position is responsible assisting in an industrial gypsum production environment through manual labor and use of machinery to move products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs all work according to safety standards and procedures
  • Ensures work space is clean, safe and in working order within assigned area(s) including sweeping, and other 5s projects

  • Normal plant operation is 24 hours, 7 days a week and work hours may vary depending on business needs.
  • Shift work that may require long hours, and weekend and holiday work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated

Pay Transparency

  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and a strong commitment to safety practices
  • Proven experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to present technical data and insights effectively across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience in continuous operations or web-based processes such as metalizing, coating, laminating, or slitting
