Program Summary:

Our 18-month development program provides participants a full-time operational role, designed to improve their manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Participants will be located at one singular manufacturing plant for 18 months and will be involved with quarterly travel to other Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites in North America.

The time split between local site projects and EOM program activities is 80:20 respectively. Classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments as well as a plethora of networking opportunities, are just some of the activities in place designed to accelerate your career development and future career growth.

These trainings and quarterly travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. While start dates for EOM program participants may vary, program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December of the following year.

Upon program completion, EOM Engineers will work with our dedicated Human Resources team to find an operational role in one of our nearly 160 sites throughout North America. While a final placement role is not guaranteed, most EOM Engineer graduates are able to choose from multiple Saint-Gobain sites for final placement offers.

Job Responsibilities:

The role duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the location. Some examples of specific responsibilities are:

  • Providing engineering support for site process improvements.
  • Supporting capital expenditure projects/ new equipment installations.
  • Supporting safety/sustainability initiatives at the plant.
  • Implementing new automation processes at the site.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction and quality improvement.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Qualifications

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline (Electrical/Robotics)
  • Internship experience in manufacturing or professional setting is a plus
  • Valid passport required for international travel to Canada

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $70,000 to $108,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $76,300 to $117,720. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

What’s the Job?

Utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles, the Process Champion supports the execution of the process improvement strategy for the Insulation Sites by ensuring assimilation and integration of known process knowledge, engineering principles and best practice equipment enabling capable operations. Key areas include: product formulation, process development and optimization, equipment design and optimization, general project engineering, and trial planning and execution.

This role is also the primary trainer for plant process engineers building process expertise at the sites.

This position is based at the Kansas City, KS plant and is a 50% travel role supporting other CertainTeed insulation plants.

Essential Duties

Safety & Environment

  • Continuously evaluates workplace for safety concerns and ensures behavioral safety initiatives are performed to goal levels.
  • Complies with all environmental standards, assures good housekeeping practices following 5S systems, enforces plant rules and safety regulations, and supports WCM initiatives.

General

  • Participates in different project teams which analyze process variations; develop solutions and implements corrective actions by using advanced statistical tools in identifying and resolving the root causes of the variations in the process.
  • Responsibilities include designing / developing new process systems, revising existing processes, and developing and coordinating the implementation of projects, which contribute substantially to plant profitability.
  • Responsible for safely and successfully executing projects, documenting, and with assistance from supervisor communicating progress and results through reports, presentations etc.
  • Develops and encourage innovative processes and equipment concepts along with follow through to Return on Investments’ (ROI) patents and / or proprietary intellectual property.
  • Closely partners with R&D and Engineering groups to ensure new process knowledge and equipment

Process Integration

  • Assists plants in execution of key projects as identified on the plant process route map.
  • Provides overall process leadership for sites by being technical experts in one or more areas of Insulation manufacturing by:
    • Ensuring process gaps to established best practice standards are identified at each site.
    • Recommending and aiding the plant in correcting process gaps and issues.
    • Working with site to establish clear process parameters leading to a more stable/capable manufacturing operation.
    • Providing process and quality-based engineering and maintenance advice to plant operating personnel
    • Providing trouble shooting expertise for process and equipment issues
  • Performing equipment studies to verify proper and efficient operation of major process equipment
  • Assists plants in ensuring process knowledge, operational settings and equipment quality maintenance is sustained via use of Step 0 and other WCM foundational systems.

Training & Education

  • Principal trainer for engineers and local trainers.
  • Support Training of operators and maintenance personnel as needed.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Set Up extrusion machines by installing dyes, machine screws, and sizing rings to manufacture parts according to specifications using approved set up sheets to cycle machines
  • Weigh materials and other specified ingredients per specifications/instructions and Load blended materials in hopper on molding machines as needed
  • Operate extrusion machines to produce specified product according to customer specifications and ensuring Quality of the parts.

  • Purge machines during the changeover process to ensure the machine is ready for the next cycle.

Senior Research Technician – Grinding & Finishing Technology

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Grinding and Finishing Technology division of Saint-Gobain Research North America is seeking a motivated Senior Research Technician to join their team in Northboro, MA.

The Senior Research Technician safely performs moderately complex activities and/or product development activities with minimal supervision. The new hire will collaborate with engineers and customers to solve related problems and address specific client needs. In addition, this position may also perform advanced specialized technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning complex processes, equipment, and products for assigned areas.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct experiments in the areas of finishing, grinding, machining, tribology, and metrology on a variety of machines and a variety of materials including metals, polymers, and ceramics.
  • Work with project leaders to develop new test methods, improve existing techniques, and update and create SOPs.
  • Work with engineers and internal customers to collaborate on the design of special fixtures & tooling.
  • Use electronic data acquisition and metrology tools, such as micrometers and surface profilometers, to collect process information.
  • Record test and measurement data.
  • Perform preliminary statistical data analysis and present results.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment including set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of experimental equipment or instruments. Lead troubleshooting initiatives and machine repair efforts.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or science-related field or in lieu of degree demonstrated equivalent knowledge with 4-7 years of experience
  • Work experience with various equipment such as complex assembly and processing or test equipment with CN/CNC & PLC controls, and/or lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other finishing machines
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience in Microsoft products including Excel
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SOLID Works, and other CAD/CAM systems is desired
  • Knowledge of CNC programming is desired

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 8% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $56,160 to $86,400. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Quality Manager

The Quality Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance within the organization. This position is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), as well as the effective management of the Quality Assurance (QA) team.

Through proactive leadership and collaboration, the Quality Manager supports cross-functional teams—including Product Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D—to drive quality excellence across all stages of the product lifecycle. This role is also accountable for investigating and resolving quality issues related to raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods, while fostering a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the plant.

In addition to overseeing the quality department’s budget and resource planning, the Quality Manager identifies and leads capital improvement projects (CAPEX) and quality initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.   • Manage quality-related CAPEX and support strategic planning with data-driven insights.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, with demonstrated expertise in ISO 9001 systems
  • At least 3 years of experience in metrology and the design/use of inspection systems
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and a strong commitment to safety practices
  • Proven experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to present technical data and insights effectively across teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience in continuous operations or web-based processes such as metalizing, coating, laminating, or slitting
