Senior Business Development Manager - Tubing & Filtration

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Role

The Senior Business Development Manager will drive strategic growth in North America for the Medical Business Unit by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for our tubing and filtration products. Based in a major U.S. medical device hub, this role will focus on building high-value relationships with engineers and decision-makers early in the product development lifecycle to position our solutions as integral to their design and manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate is a proactive business hunter with strong strategic acumen, capable of developing and executing a business development roadmap, negotiating large deals, and driving long-term customer partnerships.

The role's responsibilities are balanced between strategic business development and new account growth (approximately 50%), collaboration with marketing and commercial teams (20%), promoting emerging capabilities and solutions (15%) and opportunity tracking, diligence and reporting (15%).

The Senior Business Development Manager role is the unique combination of strategic, technical, and market-entry challenges within the medical device industry. Tasked with opening doors to entirely new accounts in an industry with exceptionally high barriers to entry, rigorous qualification processes, and long sales cycles. Success requires not only persistence and strategic foresight but also the ability to establish credibility with highly technical stakeholders, including engineers and R&D teams, very early in the product development lifecycle.

This role will promote and sell complex solutions, such as tubing and filtration products as well as emerging engineering and design optimization services, requiring a solid understanding of fluid management systems, regulatory expectations, and customer design processes. The ability to translate technical capabilities into compelling value propositions for engineers and procurement teams is essential.

The Senior Business Development Manager must proactively partner with the Marcom team to shape and drive marketing initiatives, from thought leadership to targeted campaigns, to ensure business development goals are achieved.

Finally, this role requires navigating a matrixed and evolving organizational environment, collaborating closely with internal partners such as the Commercial Manager while influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority. It is strategic in nature, requiring the development and execution of a long-term business development roadmap that aligns with the Medical BU's growth ambitions in a competitive H2/H3 market landscape.
