WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The Maintenance Mechanic will support the Norwood, MA, CertainTeed production line, manufacturer of asphalt roofing shingles. The mechanic will select and properly use all hand tools and stationary power tools, including power saws, welders, etc., as well as diagnose and repair most plant equipment (pumps, gear boxes, rollers, bearings, motors, conveyors, etc.).

Work location: Norwood, MA

Shifts Available: 2nd shift Monday-Saturday 2PM-10PM

3rd Shift Monday-Saturday 11PM-7AM

Compensation: Starting at $33.38/hr (+ shift differential)

90-day training 7AM-7PM

Overtime available!

Annual bonus incentive

Sign-on Bonus: $4,000 to be paid out at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities:

Metal fabrication/welding
Change out worn motors, gear reducers, bearings, etc.
Lubricate and maintain conveyors
Troubleshooting production manufacturing equipment
Other plant maintenance responsibilities as needed

Job Duties

  • Work safely, ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed;
  • Handle all load manifest and shipping paperwork and post load manifests daily;
  • Assist Logistics Coordinator in all administrative functions of the job;
  • Provide coverage for the Logistics Coordinator function for vacations, sicknesses, and other absences from the workplace;

  • Accurately pick orders for customer walk-ins;
  • Load customer vehicles either manually or with a forklift;
  • Maintain and schedule all fleet maintenance;
  • Liaise with our truck leasing companies on fleet details, problems, and switchovers;
  • Liaise with the fleet tracking software provider regarding the onboard truck systems and address any issues that may be identified;
  • Arrange all paperwork for the evening loading shift;
  • Inform the Inventory Control team when returned material has come back on the trucks;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Detect malfunctions, repair, inspect and test machinery / equipment: for safety or unsafe conditions. Discuss the machine operation variations with supervisors and operators; diagnose problems and repairs; increase efficiency of machines; bring equipment and environment within SG safety guidelines.
  • Maintains 5S on tools, spare parts inventory, and work area.
  • Ensures adequate spare parts inventory; places orders on tools/spare parts as necessary, with manager approval.
  • Ensure all work orders are closed and follow-up to improve reliability effectiveness
  • Secures facilities and equipment in case of emergency or crisis situation.
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of facility and grounds in regard to safety and compliance whether city, state, federal, or Saint-Gobain requirements.
  • Perform other duties as directed or required.

Warehouse Associate will be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities for the operations in his/her assigned area. Logistics Coordinator

What’s the job?

Responsible for Warehouse, Shipping Logistics, Inventory Control and Outbound/Inbound Traffic Flow functions such that the Plants’ Objectives for Shipping/Inventory Accuracy and Customer Fulfillment Rates are being achieved using the SAP Platform. Perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks per Saint-Gobain’s Inventory Control Guidelines and Logistics Standard Operating Procedures.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Manages Facilities Outbound and Inbound Shipping Appointments using SAP and Manhattan.
  • Maintains Daily Transactions for Third Party Warehouses 
  • Monitors all Inbound and Outbound traffic throughout the facility to minimize wait times for loading and unloading.
  • Responsible to resolve all Department Sales Force cases timely and effectively.
  • Monitors Material Movement Transactions in SAP with a very high level of accuracy (Transfer Orders, Scrap and Bin to Bin Movements)
  • Participates in Cycle Counting tasks with the Shipping Supervisor including reconciliation to ensure accurate Inventory Levels are maintained in SAP in both the Inventory and Bin Level.
  • Help to Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.
  • Processes return shipments from customers
  • Collaborates with others in Logistics Department to continually improve Customer Service key measurements – On Time and In-Full (OTIF) Measurement reports.
  • Maintain Department Efficiency reports, organize and file shipping, receiving and production reports.
  • Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures .
  • Monitor Customer Shipments using the outbound process flow in SAP that will ensure optimal location loading, efficient manpower usage and accurate inventory transactions.
  • Ensure Max Weight on Outbound Trucks is met.
  • Creates BOL’s documents and ensures proper filing of documents. 
  • Actively troubleshoots Order Issues with SAP and RF Monitor
  • Receives Incoming Finished Goods and Raw Materials. Verifies accuracy using SAP system.

Software Engineer - Digital Manufacturing

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

As part of Digital Manufacturing, this position will help serve projects relating to Production, Quality and Maintenance within our 70+ manufacturing sites throughout North America.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable solutions on the backbone of Ignition and its integrated MES system, Sepasoft. This role contributes to CertainTeed’s digitization and digital transformation of all processes across CertainTeed’s diverse product lines. This position will be Malvern, PA reporting to the Manager – Software Engineering.

This role will be mentored and grown into an engineering expert within the systems and functions relating to MES, Scada, PLC, Sensors, Historians and Data Tagging, and have a heavy emphasis on the Ignition platform.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect, program, and refine SCADA and MES solutions, including HMI and mobility platforms. Ensure robust performance and scalability across systems.
  • Champion high-quality development standards and best practices for Ignition, Sepasoft, and other I4.0 platforms. Lead by example to foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • Participate in rotating on-call shifts and on-the-floor Production Operation support to ensure rapid problem-solving and efficient operations in a 24/7 factory environment
  • Setting development, testing, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation (Deploying appropriate CI/CD tools)
  • Write and troubleshoot scripts, SQL queries, and logic to integrate data sources, SAP/ERP and automated processes and 3rd party systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, Manufacturing, operations, electrical and automation engineers, and operators, to deliver successful SCADA projects
  • Provide training and support to end-users as needed

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • 5 years of experience in software development, including a minimum of 2 years specializing in Ignition platform capabilities. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer science, or Information Technology or relevant experience in the required field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python for application design, development, and troubleshooting. Possesses a strong foundation in industrial automation, SQL data storage/scripting and IT/OT infrastructure—critical for integrating and supporting complex manufacturing systems. 
  • Deep familiarity with business processes in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Plant Maintenance.
  • Ability to translate operational needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Experience with Sepasoft or similar MES platforms, SDK module creation in Ignition preferred.

Position Summary
