What’s the job?

  • Conduct raw material, process and finished product testing and audits in roofing, mat, granules, asphalt and other raw materials, reporting thoroughly, concisely, and timely.
  • Conduct finished product audits, reporting thoroughly, concisely, and timely.
  • Perform warehouse audits and teach scheduled operators on how to perform tests on finished products.
  • Ability to answer questions revolving around pallet labels, wrap labels, filler percent, copper content etc.
  • Maintaining a neat, adequately stocked, safe, organized laboratory facility, keeping laboratory equipment in clean, working condition, reporting issues promptly for repair.
  • Providing laboratory technical support to operations as directed.
  • Maintain the DataMyte database, accurately entering test results in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to testing frequencies mandated by CertainTeed in regard to raw materials and finished products.

Sr. Mechanical Project Engineer

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

What’s the job?

NOTE: This position is home based/remote and will require travel up to 60% to any of our manufacturing plants located in the U.S. as the role permits.

The incumbent will manage the development and safe implementation of equipment and installation (packages) within capital projects for the CertainTeed Roofing manufacturing plants including process design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

The Senior Project Engineer reports to the Project Engineering Manager and works with the Project Managers within the PMO on the assigned project, meeting or exceeding their expectations in terms of scope, cost, schedule, and communication.

  • Lead the assigned capital packages related to design, capital requests, procurement (including, scope of works documents, contracts and change orders), budget, schedule, installation and commissioning
  • Develop initial designs and layouts for the assigned packages and then expand them into detailed plans and drawings
  • Support Project Lead / Project Managers on assigned projects led by Roofing TIP or led by the Roofing plant teams to deliver installations safely, on time and on budget
  • Support the Technical Office in the development of designs and processes to deliver the best performance and lowest cost giving due regard to safety, operations, maintenance, and legal compliance
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design
  • Provide feasibility studies, specifications, and budget estimates for capital projects
  • Lead continuous improvement of process plant design in collaboration with the Operational Excellence Team and the Technical Office
  • Assist in the startup and commissioning of equipment and other mechanical systems onsite
  • Ensure the efficient transfer of projects to the Operations team, including all documentation, training support, spare parts packages, preventive maintenance manuals, troubleshooting guides, etc
  • Maintain, and communicate project status to meet company goals
  • Follows the Project Execution Manual Check Lists (Stage gate process) applying the standard tools at each step of the project (risk register, change register, etc)
  • Maintain fluid communication and collaboration with other members of Roofing (TIP), Project Management Office (PMO), Technical Office, OPEX Team, Loss Prevention Team, and other corporate teams such as Operations, Quality, R&D or Safety during the project’s life cycle

Pay Transparency

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $89,500 to $138,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $100,200 to $155,100.

EHS Manager

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

The EHS Manager will provide leadership to the Environmental, Health, & Safety programs at the plant, within the defined World Class Manufacturing framework, in a manner consistent to the Values and Attitudes of the CertainTeed Gypsum and Saint Gobain culture.

  • Provide hand-on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the local site personnel consisting of hourly and salaried employees.
  • Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment, in addition perform data entry into corporate EH&S databases (GAIA, monthly reports) and analyze data
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine their causes and to determine whether the incidents could have been or can be prevented (RCA).
  • Interview employees to learn about work environments and incidents that lead to accidents or injuries and evaluate the corrections that were made to remedy violations found during health inspections.
  • Promote, develop and train behavioral EH&S initiatives to drive to an autonomous EH&S culture by identifying safety opportunities and developing solutions of corrective actions (assists in training hourly/salaried employees). In addition, train contractors on site safety policies.
  • In conjunction with Area EH & S Manager – IPG Gypsum West -Mining and Panels, and Local HR, provides direction and support on Workers' Compensation Benefit (WCB) claims and return to work programs
  • Maintain Industrial Hygiene standards according with company and legal regulations
  • Organize safety functions and campaigns (EH&S DAY etc.), in addition, may assist engineering capital projects, process implementation and commissioning, and regulatory affairs by providing adequate risk assessment specific for each project · Manage Loss Prevention Program for the facility
  • Ensure compliance with air quality management systems, stormwater management for industrial & construction stormwater programs, hazardous waste requirements – for all federal, state, and county permits and regulations such as air, water, waste management or as required on our compliance calendar, and record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with the water rights and regulations of local water district for the water wells owned by CertainTeed locally

  • Conducts and participates in sales promotions and educational meetings with builders, developers, owners, architects, realtors, real estate investors, distribution, and other trade factors.
  • Maintain strong relationships and open/frequent communications with other parts of the CT sales organization, in particular around overlapping customers or channel dynamics. Leverage network of CT sales professionals to grow visibility of and generate leads for OPA.

  • Support transition to 4.0 plant through digitalization of tools for employees and data power for analysis.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to complete competitive product testing and be involved with field sales calls.
  • Will assist in acquiring and maintaining, plant and products certifications, licenses and permits.
  • Must be able to handle the daily activities of the Plant, when the Plant Manager is not on site.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree, Master’s Degree in either Engineering or Business, (or relevant manufacturing experience with essentially the same responsibilities as outlined in this job description.)
  • 5 -10 years’ operations management experience within a lean manufacturing environment
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of manufacturing, lean concepts, processes and production environments.
  • Leadership and team building skills.
  • Extensive understanding of business planning, P&;L, budgeting, and impact on operations’ environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with comfort in presenting initiatives to upper management and stakeholders.
  • High level of interpersonal skills for building influential relationships and partnerships with all employees and internal/external customers.
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills are also required.
  • Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Office, database management, ERP Systems.
