We are seeking a motivated and innovative R&D Quality Engineer II to join our team at CertainTeed. In this role, you will support the development and enhancement of commercial roofing and waterproofing products. You will be involved in ideation, testing, and implementation of innovative solutions that improve product performance, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Innovation & Development (40%): Design and develop new roofing and waterproofing products for commercial applications. Improve existing product lines through value engineering and performance optimization. Conduct lab testing and field trials to validate product performance.

  • Research & Analysis (20%): Perform competitive analysis and market research to identify trends and opportunities. Utilize advanced material characterization techniques to establish structure-property relationships. Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Project Management (15%): Manage multiple R&D projects from concept to commercialization. Identify quality issues, recommend solutions, and maintain documentation to ensure compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Operations, and Marketing.

  • Technical Support & Documentation (15%): Provide technical support for manufacturing scale-up and quality assurance. Ensure products meet quality standards by monitoring, testing, and improving processes. Document research findings, test results, and technical reports.

  • Collaboration & Communication (10%): Work closely with suppliers, external labs, and industry partners. Facilitate communication between R&D, sales, and customer service teams.

  • Site Specific (as needed): Support continuous improvements through process improvements and waste reductions at the site

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Education:
    • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
    • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Work Experience:
    • Required: 3+ years of experience performing laboratory work to support product development, testing, and analysis, with a background in materials testing, formulation, or quality control within a lab environment.
    • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in R&D, preferably in roofing, waterproofing, or construction materials.
  • Practical/Technical Knowledge:
    • Required: Proficiency in lab testing methods and analytical tools.
    • Preferred: Strong knowledge of polymers, adhesives, coatings, and roofing systems.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • Preferred: Certified Materials Professional (CMP), Project Management Professional (PMP).

Travel Requirements:
Estimated travel of 20%, primarily domestic.

Summary:

Maintenance Technicians safely perform mechanical and electrical duties to keep machines, equipment, or the structure of a facility in repair. They perform preventative and predictive maintenance as needed and work with engineering and production to ensure that all equipment is functioning.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the industrial electrician is responsible for completing electrical maintenance work as directed by the maintenance supervisor, and other plant personnel, to ensure suitable availability, reliability of plant equipment and machinery associated with the manufacture of wallboard as well as ensuring compliance with local building codes.

 

  • Maintain a safe working environment with regards to all electrical maintenance work.
  • Work within the parameters of the plant’s WCM & quality system with multi-functional teams on WCM projects.
  • Maintain strong focus on Availability/Utilization targets for process equipment.
  • Assist with improving and maintaining plant electrical, instrumentation & automation systems; including preventative, predictive, spares planning/inventory control, purchasing, work procedures & documentation.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of electrical preventive & corrective maintenance work.
  • Provide off shift support for electrical equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist in generating & recording maintenance history on SAP.
  • Must be adept at conducting IR scanning of plant equipment as required.
  • Some experience working with Maintenance SAP system.
  • Working knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash protection requirements are a must.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with machine installation experience.
  • Must be able to perform rotating shift work if required.

  • Preventive Maintenance Development: Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent/Manager to develop preventive maintenance strategies that enhance reliability and maintain records of plant and equipment performance.

  • Training Oversight: Oversee the training of maintenance employees to ensure they receive adequate training before working on manufacturing equipment, following standard operating and maintenance procedures.

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Plant Manager

The Role 

This role is responsible for the day-to-day aspects of the Denver, CO, site location and its aluminum coil coating and slitting operations.  

  • Manage all aspects of plant operations to ensure on-time delivery of quality products while minimizing cost, inventory, and waste. 
  • Major areas include environmental, health and safety; employee relations; production; supply chain; process and project engineering; reliability and maintenance; and quality.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree required with degree in an engineering/technical discipline preferred.

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $111,000 to $177,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $127,650 to $203,550.

The Site Controller will ensure adherence to financial policies and ICRF controls, improving internal business processes, such as loss deployment, to support Saint-Gobain Life Sciences' growth & profitability model. Will play key leadership role providing financial analyses and recommendations to the Plant Manager and ensure the sites/teams' efforts are aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Will lead the annual forecast, budget, plan process at the site and providing accurate explanations of significant variances, including analysis of actual vs. budget and/or forecast. Focus on timely month-end results/reporting but importantly strategic planning to ensure the business is growing profitability.
  • Will manage the processes of the month-end close to ensure alignment of the HPS/LS deadlines, prepare, approve general entries/reconciliations (as needed/required), and ensure accuracy/integrity of the balance sheet (quality of working capital, changes in fixed assets, etc.). Lead the annual standard cost development process for the site to ensure transparency of cost/margin. Ensure all plant accounting activities comply with the processes outlined in the ICRF, IFRS, HPS/LS policies, and sound business practices.
  • Month-end close in QAD, DSS inputs, reconciliations/upload to Blackline, coordinating & preparing internal financial reporting (Monthly GM report – Operational analysis of scrap, labor & overhead cost/variances, Monthly Presentations – Trends/Risks & Opportunities, weekly flash, mid-month pulse checks, etc.).
  • Support LS & Operations Controller with the AD HOC requests, annual plan, budget & standard cost development process. Proactively interact with supervisors, plant leadership team as well as senior management to ensure all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the plant’s overall financial performance.
  • Support CI/WCM initiatives (participation in Kaizen’s, problem-solving events) ensuring countermeasures, projects are defined with clear financial objectives & results are tracked and reported accordingly. Lead loss deployment and Co-manage along with the project manager the capital process & provide guidance/assistance preparing Madison’s, CARs…Create forward-looking financial reviews/assessments, including models, cost/benefit, margin impact, etc.
  • Lead the annual completion of the ICRF gap analysis & ensure the execution of action plans, adherence - Segregation of Duties, system/access controls are in place. Evaluate site internal controls.
  • Coordinate physical inventory and cycle count program to achieve site and SBU goals.

Quality Technician

WHY DO WE NEED YOU ?

The Quality Technician – will primarily provide product testing and inspection support to multiple facets of the manufacturing operation. This included but not limited to: Shipping & Receiving, Calibration, In-Process Inspections, Customer Required Over-Inspections, Final Inspections.

Part inspections will entail use of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) hardware and software. Proficient CMM use and programming skills are desirable for the position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform product testing and final inspection on completed manufacturing products using various testing and precision measuring equipment.
  • Program and operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) (whenever required)
  • Assists in the preparation, completion, and submission of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Ensures manufactured parts conform with all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports. Identifies and segregates all non-conforming parts found during product inspection through the completion of non-conforming material reports.
  • Assists with customer required “over-inspection” activities in conjunction with the shipping department and master schedule.
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.
  • Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintains workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Complete all paperwork correctly and legibly.
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Quality Engineer and Strategist.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School degree, GED or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, in a Quality capacity is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with product testing and inspection with precision measuring equipment (calipers, CMM, height stand, etc.)
