JOB SUMMARY: Set up, adjust and operate machine shop tools, primarily manual lathes, optical comparators, and other QA inspection equipment to verify plated product profile accuracy according to print specifications. Apply general knowledge of machining methods and techniques. Use precision measuring instruments to verify conformity to print specifications. JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an individual who is flexible, has a strong desire to learn, and is committed to being a team player. The applicant must be able to work within deadlines and production schedules to ensure a quality product is produced safely and delivered to the customer on-time, every time. A High School diploma or its equivalency is required. Technical school training, apprenticeship programs, or similar equivalents are a plus. Must possess skills and knowledge in the set-up, adjustment and operation of machine shop equipment. Ability to read and interpret work orders, comparator charts, drawings and specifications, as well as skill and knowledge necessary to understand basic GD&T and utilize shop math and measuring instruments is required. Ability to work safely and utilize good housekeeping is mandatory. Compliance Investigator

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

As a member of the Saint-Gobain’s Compliance team within the Law Department, the Compliance Investigator will be responsible for investigating complaints from various sources that represent potential legal or policy violations. The role will support all SGNA businesses in the United States and Canada, interacting with all levels of the business though investigations. The role will also be responsible for working with various internal stakeholder groups (Legal, HR, Finance, Communications, etc.) based on the category and severity of the alleged misconduct to be investigated.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigate all assigned employee complaints with minimal supervision in a prompt, thorough, and fair manner
  • Summarize investigation findings in thorough written reports following internal guidelines and formatting
  • Make findings regarding investigated allegations and consult with internal stakeholders regarding investigation findings
  • Use experience and sound judgment to mitigate risk and weigh the importance and validity of investigation information to support investigation findings
  • Ability to convey empathy, patience, discretion, and active listening skills when investigating and discussing sensitive issues with employees and stakeholders
  • Proactively identify ways to prevent or reduce employee relations issues through the implementation of additional policies and procedures, training, and communications
  • Thoroughly and accurately track investigations and disciplinary actions in centralized internal systems, including BKMS, and assist with reporting on trends indicated in data
  • Follow best practices on documentation and maintain records as legally required
  • Periodically perform investigation-related training to sections of the business, as directed or required

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

  • Bachelors degree required. Degree in HR, Business, or related field is preferred.
  • JD is preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years of experience in employee relations, ethics and compliance, security, fraud, law enforcement, prosecutorial or related role.
  • Focused experience with conducting internal investigations
  • Strong problem solving and investigatory skills with the ability to research information and objectively analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
  • Strong listening, interviewing, analysis, and writing skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within an organization, as well as the ability to create and summarize detailed written reports.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • High level of integrity and objectivity to ensure proper outcomes are obtained and confidentiality is maintained.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws (both State and Federal) and regulations (for example, ADA, EEO, FMLA), as well as the ability to appropriately interpret and apply policies, laws and business practices when addressing employment matters.
  • Fluency in Spanish and or French is a nice to have, but not required.
  • Familiarity with data analytics software (Tableau or similar software) is strongly preferred.

Program Summary:

 

Our 18-month development program provides participants a full-time operational role, designed to improve their manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Participants will be located at one singular manufacturing plant for 18 months and will be involved with quarterly travel to other Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites in North America. The time split between local site projects and EOM program activities is 80:20 respectively. Classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments as well as a plethora of networking opportunities, are just some of the activities in place designed to accelerate your career development and future career growth. These trainings and quarterly travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. While start dates for EOM program participants may vary, program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December of the following year. Upon program completion, EOM Engineers will work with our dedicated Human Resources team to find an operational role in one of our nearly 160 sites throughout North America. While a final placement role is not guaranteed, most EOM Engineer graduates are able to choose from multiple Saint-Gobain sites for final placement offers.

  • Accurately pick, pack, and process orders for timely shipment. Pick customer orders for shipment and ensure accuracy by picking the correct number and type of product.
  • Compare internal orders with packing lists. Verifying/Receiving/inspecting and signing for shipment and courier deliveries. Unpack, inspect, sort and put stock away in appropriate locations.
  • Load and unload trailers and operate material handling equipment such as forklift or pallet jacks.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts, maintain and organize inventory, ensure stock is in the correct location while keeping the warehouse clean and safe.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor regarding low stock items, and document and report any damage or deficiencies immediately.
  • Ensure the proper use of PPE and always adhere to safety protocols.
  • Maintain safety compliance when operating material handling equipment, perform daily inspection of forklift prior to use, and report any unsafe work conditions that may arise.
  • Complete other warehouse duties as required

What’s the job?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Safely operate a forklift.
  • Loading and Unloading Material (53’ vans, rail cars and containers including the fiber and resin trucks from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions.
  • Read and understand what product(s) to select, how to load and unload trucks based off pick documents and bills of lading

  • 1-2 Years minimum Forklift Operating Experience
  • Current Forklift License
  • Mobile Warehouse Management Experience preferred / Computer Literacy
  • Good working knowledge of Warehouse/Shipping policies, procedures.
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to support disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crisis.
  • Excellent Attendance Practices Required
  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs and maintain a positive demeanor.
  • Some travel required (up to 30%) for learning purposes. Once the NC site is running, travel requirements significantly decrease.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. May require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing, working on a computer or engaging in telephone conversation.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Our manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve fiberglass, glycerin, latex and formaldehyde. Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, buggies, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas.
