Join Our Team as a Production Planner, Metal in Norcross, GA!
Are you a detail-oriented planner with a passion for optimizing production processes? We are looking for a Production Planner to join our dynamic team at our Norcross, GA, facility. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently, fulfilling customer sales orders on time and in full.
What You’ll Do:

Master Production Planning: Independently manage the daily review and assessment of ERP-generated Planned Orders to determine manufacturing, material sourcing, and subcontracting needs, ensuring seamless operations.

Collaborate for Success: Work closely with Project Managers, Design Teams, and Operations to validate project requirements and manufacturing capabilities, accurately creating production Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings for timely execution.

Optimize Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels for raw materials, resale items, and stocked finished goods, driving effective material resource planning (MRP) settings to enhance planning visibility.

Ensure Timely Deliveries: Coordinate adjustments to project delivery time frames as needed, maintaining clear and concise communication with Project Managers and Operations Scheduling.

Resolve Discrepancies: Collaborate with upstream and downstream stakeholders to address any discrepancies in material design setup, configuration, production BOMs, or routings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Capacity Planning: Maintain capacity plans across different work centers to provide guidance on manufacturing lead times, helping to streamline operations.

Cost-Efficient Solutions: Evaluate material outsourcing versus manufacturing options, facilitating analysis to promote the most cost-efficient approach while meeting customer service level expectations.
Project and Process Improvement Activities:

Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with various functions to roll out new processes and best practices, proactively exploring opportunities to exceed customer service metrics and improve working capital efficiency.

Innovate and Implement: Develop new solutions and implement continuous improvement projects within Planning functions, ensuring alignment with upstream and downstream teams.

Support New Product Development: Participate in new product development teams, contributing to product introductions and sourcing/production transitions.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to the business as needed, supporting informed decision-making.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- Educational Background: HS Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of SAP ERP system knowledge or equivalent systems experience, along with 2+ years of intermediate-level experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Certification: APICS certification or the willingness to become certified.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read production drawings and translate requirements into production BOMs and routings, with knowledge of production procedures in a Made-to-Order (MTO) and/or Engineered-to-Order manufacturing environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a highly collaborative work approach, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
